Tyler Benjamin Ventura (born: May 2, 1992 (1992-05-02) [age 32]), better known online as Mr. Nightmare, is an American YouTuber who makes horror-centered videos in a read-aloud format, and with subtitles. Fan favorite series include True Real-Life Scary Stories and many others stories.

About[]

Mr. Nightmare's channel mostly focuses on the subject of horror and real-life stories. While his videos mainly focus on the subgenre of psychological horror, it can also focus on horror-thriller and supernatural horror.

His content varies from scary video game glitches to bone-chilling horror stories that are allegedly true. His early content mainly consisted of creepypastas, interactive horror stories and other fictionalized stories, however he no longer makes these kind of videos, and instead focuses on real-life stories. Most of his older content has since been deleted or privatized, though some of them have been re-uploaded by other Youtubers.

Most videos are done by recording himself reading stories aloud from a first-person perspective, often with added eerie sound effects and scary music for immersion. He allows viewers and fans to submit horror stories to be read aloud and uploaded onto his channel. In addition to true scary stories, he also makes other horror-themed content including clips from horror films, Top 10s and third-person stories. The uploading of his videos is unscheduled, however it does say in his channel banner that he uploads 2 videos a week.

Personal Life[]

Not much is known about his personal life, as Mr. Nightmare tends to keep most of his personal information private. He has never done a face reveal and only his voice has been heard so far. A picture of what is expected to be his face does exist, but Mr. Nightmare himself has never confirmed the photo's authenticity. He is from New York.

During one point of his life, Mr. Nightmare encountered a stranger near his trailer that he occupied during summertime. It was later revealed that the trailer was broken into. In this video, you can listen to his true story.

In a Q&A video that has since been deleted, Mr. Nightmare mentioned his mother was sick and he had been taking care of her.

Trivia[]

  • Mr. Nightmare has a backup account called "likeMike" in case his main account gets taken down as revealed in his "1 Million Subscribers Thank You & QnA" video. [1]
  • In a deleted Q&A video, Mr. Nightmare started his first channel was with a friend of his, where they uploaded comedy, gaming, and skateboarding videos but Mr. Nightmare had him take it down.[citation needed]
  • He once got an email from an unnamed big YouTuber to collaborate, but he was too busy to respond, so they sent him a nasty follow-up email, calling him arrogant and "too cool" sarcastically. Mr. Nightmare responded in a since-deleted video that his mother was sick and he simply didn't have time to respond, censoring their name. He has since done a few collaborations (most notably with MrCreepyPasta and Corpse Husband), although they are not common.[citation needed]
  • The first video he uploaded was a reading of a creepypasta called "Never Invite in Strangers," which he uploaded in August of 2014. The video has since been deleted, however a reupload is available here.
