The National Basketball Association, abbreviated as NBA, formerly known as BBA or Basketball Association of America, is an American Sports Association best known for its coverage of basketball. As the BBA, it was founded in New York City, New York on June 6, 1946. It was then merged with the NBL or National Basketball League on August 3, 1949, forming the NBA. In 1976, the NBA took four teams from the ABA or American Basketball Association.[1] The league currently consists of 29 teams from the United States and 1 team from Canada.[2]

YouTube history[]

The channel was created on November 20, 2005, but didn't post a video until February 9, 2007 when "Nash kicks in a basket" was posted. The video appears to show Pheonix Suns player (at the time) Steve Nash kicking a basketball into a basketball net during his team's practice. Since that point, the content posted on the channel has been about advertising events like the NBA Finals, practice highlights, game highlights, recaps, top moments, feature documentaries, and events happening outside of the NBA.

Other Channels[]

NBA Europe was created on March 9, 2020, and NBA Canada was created on July 10, 2023. Both channels run for the most part like the original but are majorly dedicated to the players that are from those places.
