Shaffer Chimere Smith (born: October 18, 1979), better known professionally as Ne-Yo, is an American musician, who performs the genres of R&B, pop, hip hop, soul, and hip hop soul. Since he started his career in 1998, he's released a total of seven studio albums, including In My Own Words (2006), Because of You (2007), Year of the Gentleman (2008), Libra Scale (2010), R.E.D. (2012), Non-Fiction (2015), and Good Man (2018), and three compilation albums, which included Ne-Yo: The Collection, (2009), Ne-Yo – Triple Pack: In My Own Words / Because of You / Year of the Gentleman, (2011), and Another Kind of Christmas, (2019).
