―The SpongeBob Anime

Kamran Yunus, better known online as Narmak is a YouTube animator known for making parody animes from shows/movies such as SpongeBob Squarepants and Shrek.

History[]

When first uploading to YouTube, Narmak made a couple of animations. On February 27, 2016, Narmak made an animation called "Attack on Ogre", a parody of both the anime Attack on Titans and Shrek from Dreamworks Animations. Attack on Ogre blew up immensely in views, with over 10 million. Because of its popularity, Narmak made a sequel to Attack on Ogre named "Attack on Ogre 2: Shrek Gets Rekt" which has amassed over 7.5 million views.

On August 23, 2017, Narmak made a parody Anime intro to SpongeBob Squarepants which instantly became a success, with over 17 million views. Because of the major success of the SpongeBob Squarepants anime intro, Narmak made more intros and eventually the first episode to the fictional anime in July 2020, which begins in the final season. Almost immediately, the SpongeBob anime episode gained a lot of positive attention with over 7 million views and with around 900k likes.

Even big names such as Penguinz0 made a video on the SpongeBob Squarepants anime. However, a few days after the animation came out, the video was taken down by YouTube. Narmak came out on Twitter saying that YouTube took down the first episode of the SpongeBob anime. This caused a hashtag to trend on Twitter and Narmak gaining more support. A day later, the SpongeBob anime is put back up on his channel.[1]
