―One of Ned Luke's most famous quotes as Michael De Santa.

Ned Armstrong Luke (born October 4, 1958 (1958-10-04) [age 66]), also known as Ned von Leuck, is an American actor who is mostly known for providing the voice and motion capture of Michael De Santa, who is one of the three playable protagonists from the 2013 video game Grand Theft Auto V. He has a YouTube account in which he posts live streams of him playing Grand Theft Auto Online. Prior to live streaming GTA Online, he mainly posts vlogs of him watching baseball games. He mainly posts answers of questions on Cameo and TikTok.

Personal life[]

Luke was born on October 4, 1958 in Danville, Illinois. He is married to Amy Sax, and has a son named Max, who is a baseball player.[1] He started acting in 1984, in which his first major role was in Rover Dangerfield, in which he played a dog named Raffles in the movie. Rockstar Games would eventually audition Luke to do the role of Michael in GTA V by his agent, in which he initially refused before being given the information of the game by Rockstar Games, in which later auditioned and got the role of Michael.[2]

Swatting incident[]

On November 24, 2023, Luke was swatted whilst he was livestreaming GTA Online[3]. It was alleged that Rockstar Games' poor security of hiding IP addresses led to someone filing a false report against the actor, but later turned out that someone had found out about Luke's private information years prior to the incident[4].

Trivia[]

  • He is almost deaf in his right ear, which explains the reason why his character Michael shifts to the right whenever a character talks to him via the right side in several cutscenes.
  • He provided some motion capture for the 2018 video game, Red Dead Redemption 2.
