Nene Momosuzu (桃鈴ねね) (born: March 2, 2003)[1] is a Japanese VTuber associated with Hololive as part of the 5th generation along with Polka Omaru, Aloe Mano, Botan Shishiro and Lamy Yukihana.
Content[]
Nene debuted on August 13, 2020,[2] with most of her livestreams consisting of her talking to her fanbase, but the first game she ever streamed was Fall Guys.[3] She has also streamed Pokemon, Slither.io, Garctic Phone, IDOLY PRIDE, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Knockout City, Super Mario Bros 8, Good Job, Phasmophobia, Ticktock, Overcooked 2, Monster Hunter Rise, Stardew Valley, We Were Here, Planet Coaster and Apex Legends.
She mostly makes singing content and covers popular J-POP songs. She adores anime and also dreams of being an idol singer who's songs will be featured in an anime OP someday. A lot of her karaoke streams are dedicated to anime songs.
In her early streams she would often utilize a boyish voice, though later this transitioned into a more feminine one.
Her other content includes chatting streams, lessons in singing, lessons in English language learning, ASMR and drawing streams.
Collaborations[]
One day before Nene's debut stream, Lamy's stream took place, in which she was introducing her upcoming colleagues. During the introduction, she accidentally typed Nene's second name in reverse (鈴桃), resulting in "Suzumomo". Even before Nene's first stream, fans already started calling her Suzumomo. This has become a sore point for her.
She is mildly skilled in drawing, collaborating with her character designer and Marine in a stream once to demonstrate her illustration talents.[4]
She has also implied a few times that she may be attracted to Kiara in their Phasmophobia collab, making kissing sounds and calling her 'her wife'. However, she has several others are also her wives, including Lamy, Suisei and Ina'nis. She likes Among Us and has where she has a 100% win rate, and has even played it with the VTubers of Nijisanji.[5] However she is the opposite in Minecraft, where showed herself to be a terrible player, failing 16 times and indiscriminately attacking NPCs.
Some of her song covers feature another VTuber - her cover of Vampire featured Iofi. Nene, Rushia and Laplus have played APEX Legends together.[6]
Controversy[]
In February of 2022, Nene would come under fire for tracing her merchandise art from an independent artist, though Nene didn't realize it was traced. She woukd apologize to the artist (and was forgiven) and Cover Corp would settle it with her and institute new policies to ensure that tracing controversies would not happen again.[7]

Nene voice-acted the character of Nenene Anemone in MenheRafflesia Flowering Abyss and sang the ending theme song of The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! alongside Aqua and Subaru.[8]
Nene was also one of the many Hololive VTubers to appear in Molly Online Crane Game. On October 4, 2021, Nene was included in "Next Generation of Beautiful Women" that was featured in a Japanese magazine called Weekly Playboy.[9][10]
On 26 June 2021, the Village Vanguard Twitter account announced that Nene and her genmates (sans Aloe) would appear in limited edition goods with "Kemonomimi Cafe" as the theme.[11][12]

In-jokes/memes[]
- Calling Nene a seal and portraying her as one in fanart, because her squealing sounds like a baby seal. In turn, Nekko are represented by carrots with faces carved on them.
- Calling Nene's fans her "husbands", because whenever Nekko propose marriage to her she doesn't want to let them down and accpets them. In the chat, expect many members to have a husband number tag next to their names.
- When streaming Good Job for the first time, she revealed she wanted to be a CEO of an idol company and offered to let her fans be her employees, though the conditons of working for her were a four trillion yen daily wage, no paid vacation, demolition business (but employees are free to change nature of their job), resignation being prohibited (the company building has no exit), Nene herself being eternal CEO of the company and the company serving dog food to employees. This birthed jokes that she abuses Nekko.
- Nene has a tendency to give herself long flashy nicknames in games like "Nenechi", "NENEMAX", "Supernenechi" and "ENENMI". This has led to satirical nicknames.
- Due to her clumsy writing skills, Nene typed in #新人Vtuべｒ in a tweet pre-debut. On August 7, 2020, #新人Vtuべｒbecame the #1 top trending in Japan and since then, debuting vtubers started to use it.
