Nyatasha Kotova Nyanners III, (born: June 14, 1993),[1] better known online as Nyanners, is an American VTuber, singer, Twitch streamer and voice actress. Though she debuted independently, she was later hired by the company VShojo.

Nyatasha, in the late 2000's and early 2010's, first experimented with voice acting and singing through boards on 4chan, primarily /a/, reading bizarre and comedic hentai panels. Her YouTube channel was soon created in 2011, and most of her content involved anime/manga shitposts, rap covers and ASMR.
It wasn't until July 17, 2020 when she officially became a VTuber[2], and on November 24, 2020, she was hired by the company VShojo.[3] She decided to name herself after she held a poll on her Discord (rejected names such as Nyanzu Nyanneru and Nyanasu Nyanners). Her rap covers of normally crude songs such as Doja Cat's Say So[4] and Nicki Minaj's Anaconda[5] garnered her fame, as well has her covers of parody Minecraft songs. She would also stream games like Fall Guys and play Dark Souls while drunk[6]. Even though a lot of her videos post-debut were of her playing video games like Phasmophobia and Genshin Impact, most of her content is primarily music-based. Other games she has played include Who's Your Daddy, Final Fantasy XIV, Rust, Ring Fit Adventure, and BloodBorne.
Nyatasha would also react to content her fans sending her[7][8] and talk about her interests/passions[9][10]. On January 21, 2021, she reached a million subscribers[11]. In the same year, her channel became a compilation of her Twitch moments and shitposts.
On November 29, 2021, it was announced that Nyatasha was one of the many VTubers featured at the VILLS concert.[12]
Collaborations[]
Even though Nyanners primarily streams and chats with her fellow VShojo members, she, alongside Ironmouse, Silvervale, Froot, and Veibae, once played Among Us with prominent Japanese VTubers Kizuna Ai and Higuchi Kaede in a collab called #VAmongEarth. She officiated Veibae's "marriage ceremony" to Silvervale. Later she got "engaged" to Vei, and intends to "marry" the rest of VShojo.
Her music career has also been praised by voice actors like CDawgVA. On March 24, 2021, Kizuna Ai announced that she was part of her music tour[13]. On April 24, she released her first original song, Foolish Heart[14], alongside Kizuna herself.
Comedian Gilbert Gottfried once called her a piss goblin.[15] On June 14, she collaborated with Kiara Takanashi of Hololive EN, making it the first Hololive x VShojo collaboration.[16] She has also been interviewed by Crunchyroll.[17]

Lore[]
Despite her appearance, Nyanners' true form is that of a terrible eldritch spirit, who was summoned to earth more than a thousand years ago. To prevent her from conquering the world, she was sealed away in the Siberian Arctic for an age. Recently, she awoke from her slumber and was rejoined by her cat spirit familiar and began wandering the arctic together.
Even though she has stated that she doesn't remember her true origins, she has stated that was part of an elaborate plan to gain the devotion and admiration of humanity and decided to do so through anime. She has also said that she can shapeshift, that she is from the same iceberg that sank the titanic, that she can unhinge her jaw, that she can turn into a seal, that she can see through wooden doors, she can't fly, she can lay eggs, her tail always falls off, she doesn't have a butthole, she smells of pepto bismol old lettuce, and Vicks VapoRub (the former is because she uses it to wash her hair), her height depends on her mood (usually she is 5'7) and she will melt by an open flame.
Childhood[]
Having been raised as a test subject, she was allowed out only for a brief time each morning to lick up the morning dew, which would sustain her. She would then be put back in her kennel until the time came to perform experiments on her to read her DNA in order to clone her. At some point she played a game of Connect 4 with the rats in her sewer and lost.

She also has a large amount of fans from Russia. She acknowledges this by talking about it on stream, even singing a Russian karaoke song for Christmas[18] Christmas Tree, Shine with Lights. She often streams by saying "Dasvidaniya", (the Russian word for "Goodbye"), and her November 2020 winter outfit includes a Russian-style ushanka hat. Her name, Nyatasha, is also a Portmanteau for the Japanese onomatopoeia for meowing[19] and "Natasha", a name of Russian origin which means "Born on Christmas Day".

She attended the DigiKomi convention on May 22, 2021, where she played a game called "Otaku Exposed" with Silvervale, Ironmouse and Veibae.[21] In December 2021, it was announced that Nyanners would get her own Nendoroid.
When Russia invaded Ukraine, all 7 members of VShojo's first generation collaborated with charity Project Hope to raise medical supplies to assist Ukrainians[22].
On July 22, 2022, she made an appearance at Anime North. Some other creators present at the convention included Zentreya, Projekt Melody, Ironmouse, Ayane Hylo, Xiran Jay Zhao, Caitlin Myers, OniGiri, Fumiko Hoshi, moosuki, Aileen Hazumi and Arryn Zech.[23][24]
On December 21, 2022, Nyanners raised over $11,000 for charity One Simple Wish.[25]
