Josh, better known online as ParashockX (or simply Parashock or Para), is an American YouTuber known for doing challenges in which he does what a chosen comment challenges. They are called "If I..." ("When I..." for a brief moment.) videos. In most cases, when he fails the challenge, the video ends and the outro with text written in Wingdings plays.
YouTube Career[]
ParashockX started making content in 2015. His very first video is currently unavailable.[2] At this moment, the earliest accessible video is "ADVENTURE BEGINS! -Spooky's Part 1", and his very first challenge video where if he fails, the video ends was, "If I scream, the video ends - Spooky's House of Jumpscares".
He initially started out by doing Spooky's House of Jumpscares videos, but eventually expanded out to other games. At first, the "If I..." videos were commonly "If I scream, the video ends" He eventually moved on to other challenges. The first of these was "If I die, the video ends - Overwatch".
By August 2018, he had started doing mostly challenge videos, which made his channel rapidly gain popularity. As a result, he has been dubbed the "If I Guy".
He changed his profile picture to a poorly drawn penguin not too long after he hit 1 million.
On August 10th, 2020, he changed his name from ParashockX to Parashock to make a video called If I cringe, "the video ends - ParashockX "in which he jokingly reacted to his own channel while acting as if he was a different person. On September 6 of the same year he changed his name back to ParashockX when his fans told him to, which made him lose his verification badge.
On September 22nd, 2020, he uploaded a video called Goodbye If I series where he talked about how he was going to stop doing if I videos, but it was actually a joke as he only changed the name to when I.
On October 14th, 2020, ParashockX uploaded a video of him creating a second channel for regular gaming content after one of his fans recommended it.
On October 22, 2020, one month after he uploaded Goodbye If I Series, he revived the If I series because of a poll of When I or If I was released a day prior. The If Poll won, with 78%. Then he changed his profile picture to Winston after he revived his "If I" series.
On February 21, 2021, ParashockX uploaded a video titled "It was all a dream" about how everything he had done (including his YouTube channel) was just a simulation and privatized all of his videos. It is unknown why he did this, but possibly because he done it just after uploading his "If I quit YouTube, I delete this video" video. At first that video was included with all the videos that he privatized. But was later re-published, implying that he has not yet quit. He also edited all of his community posts to say "Simulation complete". Five days later, he uploaded a video titled "The End", which has one option at the end, the alternate version. On the same day, he un-privatized all his other videos, and 10 minutes later, he posted "Wake up" on his community tab. One of his posts was edited to say "Simulation rebooted".
On November 11, 2021, he uploaded a video titled "If YouTube removes the dislike button, I dislike my own video" in which he expressed his disappointment in YouTube's decision to hide the dislike count from viewers. He waited for about two weeks hoping that YouTube would listen to various content creators and users who were against the update and would reverse its decision. Since this didn't happen, he decided to start making poorly drawn stuff and post it daily in his YouTube community posts until YouTube brings back the dislike count. Thus, he posted his first comic on November 26[3] and in a few days started pinging YouTube's channel in his posts with a comic. In his comic series, he satirizes YouTube's business decisions and occasionally other social media platforms. On November 29, he also made a video announcing his decision and asked his viewers to give him some ideas for a comic by writing about what they didn't like about YouTube in a comment.
On October 19, 2022, he uploaded a video titled "If I reach 2 million.." where he "revealed his face" after showing comments such as "If you reach 2 million subscribers, you have to do your own face reveal" and "If you hit 2 million subscribers, you shave your head, start an 0nlyFans account, and start a cult." The "face" featured in the video was CircleToonsHD.
Personal Life[]
He does not like to tell much about himself but so far it is known that he is in grad school. It is also known that he can play guitar and little bit of piano. His reason for not showing his face as he mentions it is that he is awkward around strangers and would get uncomfortable if approached by a fan.
He did a "face reveal", but it turned out to be an April Fools joke, with another YouTuber named Macro acting as him. (he has actually said that he might never show his face, and he didn't know why his channel had over 1 million subscribers).

- He has made multiple videos about a character named Winston, which usually depicts him being introduced to something and then being violently beaten by other characters.
