Usada Pekora (Japanese: 兎田ぺこら) or in non-Japanese order, Pekora Usada (born: January 12, 1908)[citation needed] is a Japanese VTuber affiliated with Hololive's third generation of VTubers under the name of "hololive Fantasy" (ホロライブファンタジー) alongside Rushia Uruha, Flare Shiranui, Noel Shirogane, and Marine Houshou.

Her debut was livestreamed on July 17, 2019, her first solo gaming stream being of Super Mario Maker. While streaming, Pekora has a reputation of being a "war criminal" as she behaves rather barbariously towards Minecraft villagers and uses them as experiments. She is also known to be a huge prankster. While playing Minecraft, Usada built her own company, Usada Kensetsu, where she recruited fellow Hololive member Moona Hoshinova as her first employee, who in turn hired Kanata. Currently, employees of Usada Kensetsu are Moona, Kanata (formerly), Kiara, Coco (formerly), Towa and Rushia. The company is also on good terms with Botan's ramen shop. However, Pekora has a rivalry with Subaru, in what fans dub the "PekoSuba War", and this rivalry is often brought up in other games too.
In some of her other playthroughs, such as her one of Mordhau, she often screamed at her teammates to kill everything in sight, and in her one of Grand Theft Auto, she stole every vehicle she thought looked nice and laughed at a woman being hit. There are also instances when she acts extremely recklessly, once throwing her Minecraft diamond sword in lava because she was told it wouldn't burn. She did retrieve it, but took a lot of damage in the process.[1]
Despite being skilled at Minecraft, she is terrible at driving games. She also has a poor sense of direction as showed by her ARK streams, and when she was asked to draw a compass, she illustrated the east and north in each other's places.
She has a passion for RPGs and is also asinger, and on her birthday stream, she released her first original song, Pekorandam brain.[2] Her other content includes cooking streams.
In May 2022 she had to take a break due to her vocal cords being damaged.
Collaborations[]
Post-debut, she started streaming Splatoon, which was former being her first collaboration with Rushia. Pekora, Flare and Rushia would also collaborate while playing Minecraft,[3] though on August 20, all Hololive Fantasy members collaborated in playing it.[4]
Pekora initially disliked playing Minecraft with others and would log off if anyone else was on the server at the same time as her, but after witnessing how Moona was extremely skilled, she decided to be less introverted and more confident. She also added Moona's star and moon motifs to Usada Kensetsu's own rabbit and carrot logo, and because of this and the fact that Moona is hypercompetent compared to her, some people have joked that Moona is the real CEO, which irritates Pekora.[5][6] Outside of Minecraft, the duo have played Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes and covered Turing Love together. Moona nicknames her "Shachou". In late 2022, Pekora and Moona would meet in real life at DisneySea.[7]
In Kiara's debut stream, she revealed Pekora to be her favorite senpai. Kiara would later become a member of Usada Kensetsu.[8] Pekora appeared in an episode of HoloTalk.[9]
Her tendency to target Sakura Miko for pranks comes from the fact that the two knew each other before they joined Hololive (despite this Sakura says that in real life Pekora is quite shy, kind and soft and she trusts her a lot).[10] She also has somewhat of a rivalry with Noel after Noel had to play a VR horror game after losing to Pekora, and as of current still holds a grudge over it.
When Marine met Pekora for the first time in real life after seeing anxious Pekora was and how she clung to her (according to Marine's own words, "like a lost child"), she vowed to protect her. Marine also doesn't flirt/make lewd jokes around her because she knows Pekora is uncomfortable with it, as does Matsuri. Even Pekora has standards when it comes to her own pranks, and refused to prank Moona until Moona showed how skilled she was in Minecraft.[11] She is nicknamed Peko-chan by Marine.
Pekora and Coco were very close friends too, and in Coco's final stream, Pekora cried when singing her goodbye songs[12].
She is also one of Sora Tokino's channel members, though she revealed this by accident.[13] In Pekora and IRyS' first collaboration, she was surprised at IRyS' fluency in English.[14]
She was part of the Hololive EN/ID/JP Among Us collab. In it, she was the Imposter, and everyone voted her for it. Pekora would then vote Noel, which culminated in a huge fight, and resulted in her being ejected.
Outside of Hololive, Pekora has also played Super Mario Maker 2 with Honma Himawari[15] and hosted a stream that featured Hinata Nekomiya[16]. The two have also played Animal Crossing together.[17]
Design[]
Her character designer is Yuuki Hagure[18]. She shares her character designer with Shiina Amanogawa and Avi Tsukiyomi.
Tiny rabbit heads can be seen in the eyes of her VTuber model. The scarf around her neck is her mascot, Don-chan, and according to Pekora, he is sentient.
She wears glasses, and can be seen gesturing as if adjusting them in some streams, despite her character model not having any. However Pekora has stated that she does have glasses on her model, it's just that they are invisible.

Pekoland[]
- Pekoland is on the moon and inhabited by rabbit people that have long lifespans - this could be a reference to a Japanese legend that rabbits resided on the moon.
- Pekora is the princess of Pekoland - she hid this for a long time as princesses tend to get kidnapped.
- Her age is 111 because in Pekoland, Pekolanders count their age by adding a 1 for every year they lived. So she is actually 3.
- The Pekolandish language only consists of the word "Peko".
- The clothes Pekora usually wears are the uniforms of Pekoland and everyone wears them. However the bunny girls don't wear panties.
- She came to Japan and learned Japanese because she liked Japanese culture.

Controversy[]
Adopting a monkey[]
In Summer 2022, Pekora revealed that she had adopted a pet Senegalese bushbaby, which are closely related to the primate family. This caused controversy amongst her Western fanbase due to ethical concerns, as Senegalese bushbabies are nocturnal, territorial, urinate on property to assert dominance and as exotic animals, are not suited to live in a regular house. While this practice is common in Japan, many other places consider it animal abuse and have banned it. People also brought up that the animal could potentially pose a danger to her cat (or vice versa)[20].

She appeared in Molly Online Crane Game, and was also a part of the Hololive x Curry Meshi Week collab.
She made an appearance in Chapter 181 of the Kaguya-sama:Love is War manga, along with Coco Kiryu[21]. This would not be her first anime appearance, as the second episode anime How Not to Summon a Demon Lord Ω ,featured a character that had a heavy facial resemblance to her. Due to the risk of violating copyright infringement from Cover Corp, this character was removed but still remains in import streaming versions seen on sites like Crunchyroll due to licenses usually hard to modify after being sealed. However Pekora reacted to it, and was elated at appearing in an anime, saying she wanted to appear in more[22].
The Kyocera Dome Osaka stadium, on August 13, 2021, scheduled a collaboration between 12 Hololive idols including Pekora, who were to represent the SoftBank HAWKS and collaborate with six professional Japanese baseball teams from the Pacific League, two hololive members per team. They dubbed this day "Hololive day" and released exclusive merchandise to commemorate it.[23]
On May 10, 2022, the game Valkyrie Connect 's Twitter account announced that the game would feature hololive talents Ina'nis Ninomae, Kiara Takanashi, Pekora Usada and Laplus Darkness[24]. On November 28, 2022, Smile Base Cafe announced a collaboration with Gura, Ina'nis, Marine, Aqua, Botan, Suisei, Mio, Pekora, Watame, Sora, Mel and Subaru.[25] On December 16, 2022, GROOVE COASTER WAI WAI PARTY announced that Pekora and Calliope would contribute a voiced navigator, avatar, and hololive production songs to their game.[26]

Despite this, there are some times when chat has genuinely aided her, such as stopping her from using copper on wool blocks during a Minecraft stream.

Personal Life[]
Pekora has mentioned her family in some streams, and celebrated one million subscribers by finally revealing that she was a VTuber to her mother, who had formerly assumed that she was a NEET. The livestream took part on December 13 and had over 120,000 viewers. She inherited her signature laugh from her mother. Though when her mother began adopting her verbal tic of saying "Peko", she began cringing. Pekora also cringes when anyone else copies her verbal tic.
She has two brothers. While discussing them with her fans, she gave them the psuedonyms "Diabolo" and "Michael" for the sake of privacy.[40] She also mentioned that she would steal milk from her brother, because it was her favorite food.
She is a qualified childcare worker and can play the piano.
