Pixar Animation Studios, or just Pixar, is an American computer animation studio known for its Disney-collaborated films.
History[]
Pixar started in 1974 when Alexander Schure created a computer graphics lab and recruited animators and computer scientists to work in the lab. George Lucas of Lucasfilm offered most of the scientists a job at their company, including the chance for Pixar to work with Lucasfilm.
Pixar made several short films through the 1980s, such as Luxo Jr., Tin Toy, and Knick Knack.
Years later, Walt Disney Animation Studios would work with Pixar and then create their first film, Toy Story, in 1995.[1] The film was directed by John Lasseter.
In 2006, Disney agreed to buy Pixar for approximately $7.4 billion.[2]
Channel[]
The channel was created on September 19, 2006[3] and the first video was uploaded on July 15, 2009, showing a teaser for Toy Story 3. The channel uploads clips and behind-the-scenes footage of films and mini-series such as "Cooking with Pixar" and "Inside Pixar."
Trivia[]
- There are a number of Easter eggs in many Pixar films, such as John Ratzenberger, the Luxo Ball, A113, and the Pizza Planet Truck.
- A popular subject among Pixar fans and theorists is the Pixar Theory, where all Pixar films exist in the same universe. Channels such as SuperCarlinBrothers make videos explaining how recent Pixar movies fit into the universe. The theory even has its own website.
