Pixel Playground (also known as PXL Playground) is an American YouTube channel and Roblox game studio owned by KreekCraft, Karl Jacobs and the gaming organization Misfits Gaming. It was one of the channels that Misfits Gaming owns alongside their members, with the other one being TubNet (owned by Tubbo). The channel is currently inactive as KreekCraft has left Misfits Gaming[1]

History[]

February-March 2023: Teasers for his "Project", Karl joining Misfits, and Kreek's announcement[]

On February 12, 2023, Kreek tweeted a photo of him holding a clapperboard, stating about him "having some things being done during the week", with his fanbase speculating about his collab with Dhar Mann coming true. He later on posted a picture of him recording a video take, as well as a photo of him with Seek from the Roblox game "Doors". This was later also speculated as a Doors movie.[2][3][4]

On March 10, 2023, Karl joined the said organization alongside Austin, with Karl also joining as its Co-Owner and Creative Executive and Austin joined as its Executive Producer.[5][6]

On March 22 & 24, 2023, Kreek later posted more photos on his announcement before revealing it on the 24th of March, 11:11AM PST.[7][8][9] The announcement was later revealed to be his joining announcement, a few hours after the video was released.[10]

April-July 2023: YouTube channel launch, Rainbow Friends Chapter 2, Guests[]

On April 2, 2023, Kreek announced that the Pixel Playground's channel is now live, with some people finding it first as stated by him.[11] He also announced that him and Karl were working on a Roblox game.

On May 10, 2023, the channel announced their first guests on the channel.[12] From that point onwards, the channel featured many guests.

Shortly after Rainbow Friends Chapter 2 released, the channel made significantly a lot of content on the game.[13]

July 2023-November 2023: Roblox Game Launch, Pixel Playground Live, Non-Roblox Content[]

On July 27, the channel released their first and currently only Non-Roblox Content. The video centered around DaFuq!?Boom!'s Skibidi Toilet Series.[14]

On August 1, 2023, in a video Karl announced that they were releasing their Roblox game on August 10.[15] Later that day, Kreek announced in one of his streams that they would be announcing the details of the game that coming Thursday (August 3, 2023).[16] On August 3, 2023, the game's name was announced to be "Gameshow", and will be released on August 17, 2023. The trailer for the game was released on August 4, 2023.[17] The Beta for the game released on August 17th.[18]

On August 24th, Kreek announced on a stream on his channel that they were doing their first ever Live Show Tour. He also announced that they would be Live streaming each event. The dates and locations for the tour were October 7th in Miami, October 29th in Houston and November 11th in Los Angeles.[19] Later that day the Pixel Playground channel reconfirmed this in a Community Post and a Youtube Short.[20][21]

July 2024-September 2024: End of Channel[]

In mid-July 2024, KreekCraft privately left Pixel Playground and Misfits, but Kreek had contractual obligations leading to him staying on[1] until either August 2024 or September 2024(unknown if videos in Sep 2024 were pre-recorded). The last video was on September 24, 2024,[22] with Kreek's official announcement leaving[1] being on September 30th.
