They think I should live a normal life, do normal things… Just like everyone else. They want me to follow their stupid rules. But I am much more than that. And no one can stop me from dancing!

―YouTube description

Polar is a metaverse musical artist. She is created by TheSoul Publishing.[1]

Content[]

On her YouTube channel, Polar uploads original songs and YouTube shorts. Her most viewed videos are often mass-disliked and have negative comments on them, leading to her disabling comments on some of them.[citation needed]

Controversy[]

Plagiarism accusations[]

Many viewers accused Polar of being a plagiarism of HatsuneMiku, due to the fact that both of them are fictional virtual pop singers. In an interview, Polar states "I want to perform in a live show in a real venue with my real world fans—it may not be as far away as people think," which implies that virtual singers are something new, even though Hatsune Miku had her first concert in 2009 and VTuber concerts are common in Japan. According to Reuters, Polar is supposedly a popular influencer, but many people have stated that they never heard of her, leading to accusations that Polar uses bots to increase her follower count.[2]

Appearance[]

Many people have criticised her character design as well due to it looking unsettling, with Jarvis Johnson calling her "creepy and weird".[3]

Music videos[]

Polar's music videos have been criticised due to their low quality. She has also been accused of plagiarizing music.[4]
