Polka Omaru (尾丸ポルカ) (born: January 30) is a Japanese VTuber affiliated with Hololive as part of its fifth generation, along with Botan Shishiro, Nene Momosuzu, Lamy Yukihana and Manoe Aloe.
Content[]
Her debut was livestreamed on August 16, 2020. After her debut she garnered 100,000 subscribers and revelealed a promo of her upcoming song, HOLOGRAM CIRCUS and its full version was released on the 26 of December[1].
The first game she ever played was Super Bunny Man[2], and she has also played Fall Guys, Minecraft, Phasmophobia, Chinese Parents, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, 428:Shibuya Scramble, Biped, Shadow Corridor, Among Us, ARK, Hide and Shriek, Cooking Simulator, Ring Fit Adventure, Planet Zoo, Doki Doki Literature Club, AI Dungeon, Monster Hunter Rise, Night in the Woods and Super Mario Kart Deluxe 8. She is not very good at video games, but likes free-short games, TRPGs, and horror games. She also wants to try playing retro games, and has affinity for games involving gambling, as she used up a lot of her money on the Toreba crane game purchasing Korone-themed pillows.
She has covered Its not Menhera - Isana, 廻廻奇譚 - Eve, Vampire - DECO*27, Bakushou - Syudou, Hokori Takaki Idol - Honeyworks, Jealousies - Chinozo, Pierrot of the Night - Ado, Cinderella - DECO*27 and Loser Girl - TUYU. Her cover of Envy Baby - Kanaria has become her most viewed video.
She also likes to watch and react to filmswith her audience, such as Kong:Skull Island[3] and has tried to learn English on Duolingo[4]. Her other content includes ASMR and reading bedtime stories[5]. In between her streams she would upload multiple consecutive shitposts.
Polka no Densetsu[]
Polka no Densetsu (English: The Legend of Polka) is a mini-show consisting of Polka talking about herself. In the first episode it was revealed that she drew her own manga "Magical☆Toki" when attending 5th Grade in primary school, which was revisited by herself in the episode. Polka has even created a theme song for it and used the song as the ending theme of that episode[6].
Collaborations[]
In Minecraft, Polka is affiliated with Shiranui Kensetsu, Flare's company. While streaming games with others, she is often on the receiving end of their pranks. A lot her earliest collaborations were with Choco, Luna, Subaru and Watame. She has also played Ring Fit Adventure with Luca Polka.
She also has admitted to watching Froot and Nyanners of VShojo, saying that they are amongst her favorite VTubers. She has also implied to have feelings for Lamy and Ina'nis, quarrelling with Nene for their love.
Polka was part of the EN/ID/JP Among Us Collab, and in general most of her collaborations center around the game.
Design[]
Her character designer is Kou Mashiro.[7] Her original modeler was Date[8], though currently it is keffiy. Her 3D model was made by ぽんぷ長.[9]
Her original model was humanoid, but updated to have fox features.[10]
Lore[]
A circus performer who joined Hololive in hopes of becoming the ringmaster of the VTuber world. She enjoys wowing audiences with acrobatics, and lives by the words, “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” If you ask her, her occasional mess ups are also part of her charm. Polka also claims that she is a fennec girl, and that her grandfather was a fennec fox as well[11].

In-jokes/memes[]
- Instead of saying "LOL" or "LMAO", Omaruza say "POL" and "POLMAO".
- After this tweet, fans began joking about Polka being into BDSM.
- In an Among Us stream, Polka once randomly brought up her 300,000 subscribers milestone when she was questioned if she was the imposter. As she was kicked out she began screaming about how they couldn't do this to her. Later viewers and some fellow idols like Botan would bring up her subscriber count to encourage her.
- Whenever Polka reaches any milestone at all, Omaruza say "POLGRATULATIONS".
- Once Okayu asked what animal Polka was supposed to be and Pekora replied that she was a fennec. However Okayu misheard it as "phoenix" and now jokes about Polka being a phoenix like Kiara are common on Twitter.
- Her nicknames include "Omarun" and "Pol".
- In an Among Us stream, Polka proposed to Lime after accidentally getting rid of him. This led to many people saying that "lime scored with a VTuber"[14].
- Polka often complained about her outdated desktop, which lead to western fans calling her desktop a “Poltato PC”. However this enraged Polka to the point she hunted down Gura for calling it that[15].
- She later bought a more powerful PC, which she referred to as her "Beef PC".
- A common joke is that Motoaki "YAGOO" Tanigo, Cover Corp's CEO, hired Polka with the intention of hiring a clown, but instead ended up with a skilled singer. Not helped by the fact that despite being a circus performer, she is not good at juggling or walking on thin beam/wire as shown in her 3D debut. However, her storytelling videos often incorporate the old Japanese tradition of Rakugo, a minimalist traditional style of comical storytelling, modernized in an internet style. This is further expressed by how she makes the most out of the smallest things, such as changing her voice to echo when she enters a cave in a game, at one point having seven different voices and having small props (such as rotor phones).
- In IRyS' first Minecraft stream, she accidentally went into the JP server instead of the EN one and almost immediately got chased around by hostile mobs without a means to defend herself. Polka logged in and ended up saving her, before giving her some food to heal and leading her to a bed to save. Due to her vigilante-like actions, Polka is compared to Batman, and now helps any EN members who require her asisstance in the game.

On 26 June 2021, the Village Vanguard Twitter account announced that Polka and her genmates (sans Aloe Ch.魔乃アロエ) would appear in limited edition goods with "Kemonomimi Cafe" as the theme[16][17].
