I keep finding new things to Totally Realify.

―PrismGD

PrismGD[1], also known as, Prism, is an American YouTuber known for his Geometry Dash related content. He is best known for recreating and repurposing Geometry Dash sprites. His most popular video series include the "'Totally Real' Series,"[2] "GD Images,"[3] "Chrome Music Lab Recreation,"[4] and "Ranking Videos."[5]

History[]

First Videos[]

Prism's original channel name was "UrbanSquirrel77."[6] He uploaded his first Youtube video on June 26, 2023 titled "Hit Parade Ruins - Fall Guys Creative Level (4203-3846-1856)."[7] It is a 57 second showcase of a Fall Guys level layout he created. His next three Youtube uploads were also showcases of Fall Guys levels he had made.

He then branched off into The Legend of Zelda content. He published the video "FUNNIEST Moments in ZELDA TOTK! (Clip Compilation)"[8] on July 29, 2023. It features many comical clips from the game that he screen recorded from his playthroughs. He released two more videos of the same series shortly after.

Shorts[]

Prism released his first Youtube short on August 3, 2023 titled "I did not expect this..."[9] It features Tears of the Kingdom gameplay of a glitch in which Link's hover bike gets caught in the big wheel in Akkala Sky.[10]

Prism switched to primarily uploading Youtube shorts of Zelda clips due to their popularity. They consistently gained over 1,000 views each. His final Shorts upload for Zelda content was uploaded on August 25, 2023 titled "R.I.P. Yunobo 🪦."[11]

Variety[]

After the success of his first 12 Youtube shorts, Prism switched to making content from a variety of video games. On August 10, 2023 he uploaded a Mario Kart 8 video: "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe EPIC Moments Compilation! (Snipes, clutches, and more)."[12] In this video, he plays as Waluigi and features clips from his gameplay of funny moments and tricks that he pulled off.

On August 17, 2023, he came back to Zelda content and uploaded "The BEST Hidden Secret in TOTK! (and how to find it),"[13] a tutorial video for a secret area in Tears of the Kingdom with a hard-to-reach silent shroom in it.

His next video featured the final Fall Guys layout that he posted on his channel. He uploaded "Alpine Adventure - Fall Guys Creative Level (1634-9343-9052)"[14] on January 20, 2024, a significant amount of time after his previous upload.

Geometry Dash[]

As UrbanSquirrel77, he uploaded six Geometry Dash related videos, the first of which was a level layout he created. On January 26, 2024 he uploaded "Ultimate Destructor - Geometry Dash Level (code in desc.)"[15] "Ultimate Destructor" is the second level released under his Geometry Dash profile, Prism24 (The first being "Stereo Madness FULL" ID: 88195916). The level has an XL length, its difficulty is harder, and it uses the song "Ultimate Destruction" by: Tmm43.[16] Its ID is 95582333.

His next video, "I made a Geometry Dash Level for my Spanish Class,"[17] uploaded on January 28, 2024, is a showcase of another level layout he made. The level featured is titled "Espanol Thing" is his third level and has an XL length, a difficulty of harder, and it uses the song "-Sunwalker-" by: Waterflame.[18] Its ID is 99734206. This level marks the first instance of "Jeffrey" representing the name of the cube in Geometry Dash. This is a personal running gag in Prism's videos.

Prism went viral on February 3, 2024 with his video "Totally Real Geometry Dash Levels"[19] in which he creates fake Geometry Dash level thumbnails by editing the original official level thumbnails. It gained over 100k views within a few weeks, significantly surpassing the viewership of his previous videos. Due to the success of this video Prism would go on to upload strictly Geometry Dash content. Prism would also continue the "Totally Real" series by way of other videos.

After this, Prism started uploading weekly. The videos, usually, were released consistently on Sundays. On February 10, 2024, Prism uploaded "Making Really Bad Geometry Dash Coins."[20] In this video, he uses the Geometry Dash editor to copy official levels and place coins in different locations than in the original level. This was his first video to feature the Geometry Dash editor.

Prism uploaded his first video analysis on February 18, 2024 with a video titled "The Most Infamous Part of EVERY Geometry Dash Level."[21] In this video, he subjectively chooses the most tedious or difficult segment of each official level while simultaneously displaying gameplay of the part of the level. He also explains his personal reason behind why he considers each part of the levels to be the most infamous.

In his final video as UrbanSquirrel77, "Totally Real Geometry Dash Difficulties," uploaded on February 25, 2024, Prism edits the Geometry Dash difficulty icons to represent fake level difficulties. The designs include mostly minor edits to the base icons and are all given different titles. The video is a continuation of the "Totally Real" series.

PrismGD[]

Prism rebranded his channel by giving it a new title and channel icon. The rebrand fit the theme of the channel because of the switch to strictly Geometry Dash content.

Music[]

Creative Commons[]

Prism often uses creative commons licensed music in the background of his videos. He primarily uses Kevin Macleod music but sometimes uses music from Nintendo games. For video intros, he commonly includes the songs "Fluffing a Duck,"[22] "Sneaky Snitch,"[23] "Carefree,"[24] "Sneaky Adventure."[25] and other Kevin Macleod songs. During the ending sequence before the outro of each video, the track "Lobby Time"[26] plays.

The KATAverse[]

The KATAverse[27] collaborates with Prism on making music for his videos. These songs are less prevalent throughout the videos. All the music created specifically for Prism can be found on The KATAverse's Youtube channel and is listed under Creative Commons.[28] The following are songs from the collection PrismGD Music Vol. 1.[29]

Running Gags[]

  • Prism often calls the cube from Geometry Dash "Jeffrey." This gag is likely used because the cube icon in Geometry Dash doesn't normally have a name.[36]
  • The "Totally Real" video series that Prism uploads features his edits of Geometry Dash images and sprites. This is a sarcastic gag because the results of the edits are completely fake and unofficial to the video game.[2]
  • The "I am in your walls" gag is used repeatedly across his videos, usually to poke fun at how cursed an image is.[37]
