Controversy[]

Video about autism[]

On August 2, 2020, Psych2Go uploaded "What Is High Functioning Autism? 7 Things You Should Know". The video was criticized by many autistics for a variety of reasons. The issues included the use of terms such as “high functioning”, “milder form”, and “Asperger’s”. It was also criticized for portraying autism as negative, mentioning ABA (an abusive practice) and treatment, and the use of puzzle pieces as a symbol.

The channel pinned a comment on the video apologizing for misinformation and carelessness. They explained in the comment that: “autism is not an illness. Being autistic does not mean you have an illness or disease. It means your brain works in a different way from other people and there's nothing wrong with that!”. The comment ended with the statement that: “We are truly sorry for hurting people with this misinformation. We have left out the voices of the people from the autism community in this video. As a way to apologize, we decided to unlist this video from the public because it’s better off not being accessible to the public to stop the spread of this hurtful information.” The video was public for a while until being fully unlisted in around 2021-2022. The title also has been updated to include "(DO NOT PUBLISH)" in the title.

Trivia[]

    • They also use a lot of popular characters from other popular games/videos such as DDLC, Yandere Sim, Omori etc.[7]
