Mick William Lauer (born: December 10, 1980), better known online as Ricepirate, is a Taiwanese-American animator, artist, and voice actor. His channel is known for making parody animations on YouTube.
Personal life[]
Mick was born in Washington, but was raised in Taiwan. He is half Irish and half Taiwanese.[1] He grew up all around Asia before settling back at Washington. He graduated from the New York University Tisch School of the Arts and spent a few years training at various acting schools and then studied voice acting under Jan Snyder (Dan Green).[2][3]
Mick is known for being one of NewGround's biggest users. He first became famous after making the animation titled, "Dot Dot Dot." Most of the animations that he has made after involve parodies of shows and games. He is very good friends with other famous animators of YouTube, such as StamperTV, OneyNG, and Psychicpebbles.
He is currently working on Blood Sun Vendetta, a fan-made motion-comic of his based on the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series.

Mick was one of the main hosts of the YouTube podcast, "SleepyCabin." Other than when he's drunk, Mick maintains a very serious and stern personality when discussing topics on the show. Unlike most of the members, he talks about pretty serious topics.

Feud with VeronicaAndJelly[]
On February 11th, 2023, Just Stop, also known as Braxton released the video "Clearing The Air", where he addresses his prior video about LS Mark and his wife Veronica’s relationship[4], going into detail about how she cheated on Mark as well as keeping him around while she was sleeping with other guys.[5] Braxton claimed that Dovendraw, formerly known as DaftPina was the driving force behind the video and proceeded to cut him out of his life entirely. Many argued that Braxton had thrown all the blame on DaftPina and didn't own up to his mistakes. Doc on the Radio, who interviewed Braxton, showed inconsistencies between his live debate[6] and the Video he ended up making.[7]
DaftPina would release a now-deleted response video showing DMs citing a few clarifications.[8] Braxton came to him about making the LS Mark video, and on numerous occasions told him he didn't have to make the video. He also stated that he wasn't the only one working on the script with Braxton, clarifying that MangaKamen amongst several others participated and that Braxton never mentions their names within his video. DaftPina also reacted to a now-deleted video by Veronica about the situation, where Veronica clarified that Ricepirate[9] wanted a relationship with her.[10][11] DaftPina had found out that Mark had been leaking his animated pilot as well as making fun of him behind his back. He did this with his friend SonnyTM in a Discord server alongside Veronica and SecretNarcissist. Sonny had previously worked with DaftPina on a cartoon pilot that has yet to be released, and later leaked parts of the pilot on his channel citing that he hated working on it, as he thought it was terrible.[12]

- His first language is Mandarin Chinese and he speaks it very fluently.[14]
- Mick has been a fan of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series since the early '90s having read it in Chinese during his childhood in Taipei.
- Mick's favorite JoJo is currently Joseph Joestar, though Jotaro Kujo was also a long-time favorite of his.
