Lore[]

The master of a hideaway bar: ROBEL. He streams before opening time. He talks to anyone openly, however it is hard to guess what he is thinking. Even though there are many chances for him to drink, it doesn’t necessarily mean he is a good drinker. His motto is: Men happily believe what they wish.

Fandom[]

His fanbase is officially called "Regulars" (常連さん). His non-Japanese fans call him "son"/"winning son" (as a reference to the "Are ya winning son" meme), which he initially didn't understand, but after Airani explained its origins to him, he sang a song where he used "winning son" as the lyrics[2]. Because of this his fandom is also known as "Dads", "parents" or "families".

In-jokes/memes[]

  • Due to the URL of his channel being "UCANDOlYTJT7N5jlRC3zfzVA", a lot of non-Japanese fans have also used the phrase "UCANDOlYT" to cheer him up whenever he loses a game. Roberu has claimed the Y in the phrase stands for his surname, Yukoku. A variant is "UCANDOEAT", said when he implies he has not had breakfast.
  • A lot of his fans also come from a meme/Twitter trend when Fubuki Shirakami started a hashtag on Twitter ["朝食ロベル" (Choushoku Roberu)] and later that day streamed herself drawing Roberu as bacon. The hashtag ended up trending as #5 in Japan and caused Roberu's subscriber count to surpass the 20,000 milestone.
  • Calling Holostars "shitty brats" because Roberu said that when they are together, they're like shitty brats inrespond to a fan question.
  • Calling ASMR "Asamura", since Roberu pronounces it like that. Similarly, his chat calling the Mario Kart 8 horn "Chanchakadondon" because thats what Roberu calls it.
  • In an Among Us stream, Roberu was asked where he was during a meeting, and he replied "Cafeteria" despite the map not having one. As he was ejected, he cried out "Cafeteria in my soul", something Aruran and Anya would later reference.

Miscellaneous[]

  • He used to be a tutor in the past. Roberu worked as an office worker after college and became a Vtuber.
  • He speaks in the Kansai dialect of Japanese. He says that growing up, he was influenced by Kansai-dialect speakers, one of which was a close friend of his. However most viewers have agreed that his dialect is more of a Hyogo dialect than anything.
  • His character designer is めばる[3], but his 2D avatar was modelled by Naname[4] and his 3D avatar was modelled by pfy.[5]
  • In Roberu's 10,000 subscriber celebration stream, he talked about the hardships faced during the early 4 months from his debut. Even though he was holding back tears, he cried. Roberu noted HOLOSTARS had merged into hololive Production and afterwards that was when 2nd generation SunTempo debuted. With the merge, Roberu realized and felt that he had to work even harder to show that he's not leeching off (of the hololive brand name or from collabs with their senpais as that was already being said about them). Despite Roberu having strong confidence in himself being a funny and interesting person, he wasn't sure how things would turned out or what he should've done but he was able to get this far thanks to all the domestic and overseas viewers. Overall, Roberu doesn't take anything for granted and knowing that there may be more hardships to come, he'll continue to give his best.
    • Their company president Yagoo also had stopped by the stream.
