Ryan Rodney Reynolds (born: October 23, 1976) is a Canadian-American actor, producer and voice actor best known for playing Deadpool in the film of the same name and voicing Pikachu in Detective Pikachu.
Personal life[]
Ryan was born in Vancouver, British Columbia (hence his handle VancityReynolds) to James Reynolds, a former Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman, and Tamare Lee, a retail worker. He is the youngest of four siblings, Jeff, Terry and Patrick. His grandfather is American-Canadian politican Chester Reynolds.
In 1994, Ryan graduated from Kitsilano Secondary School. Due to mostly being in small roles and garnering little success he thought of quitting his career to enroll in Kwantlen Polytechnic University. However, an encounter with fellow actor Chris William Martin changed that as Chris convinced him not to give up and even let him move with him in his Los Angeles residence.
From 2008-2011 Reynolds was married to Scarlett Johansson, but in 2012, married Blake Lively and has three children with her.
Ryan suffers from anxiety disorder.
In 2018 he obtained U.S. citizenship.
