Lamont Meeks (born: February 12, 1999), better known online as SLN! Media Group, is an American YouTuber from Chicago who is well known for his logo animations based on both real life and made up companies and networks. He reached 100 thousand subscribers on January 10, 2021.
History[]
SLN! Media Group created his channel on March 6, 2012 with the video oldies with fun!.avi and, in December 2014, a Google Plus community named "Powerhouse of Entertainment" (POE), along with two others known as Dan P. Lyons, Jerome Harrison, Jr and several other members. In 2016, it started to collapse and was merged with 629Lyric to form the Total Wonder Organization (TWO), it was renamed to the Grand Powerhouse of Entertainment shortly after and to its original name again shortly after. In January 2020, the POE shut down due to large amounts of drama.
Backstory[]
SLN began in 1997 with the launch of TV7 Spot (now SLN! Television). Superlamont212 was rebranded as SLN! TV and the 2004 logo returned, but it was fully black and "Super Lamont Network" in the bottom on it. Before December 2018, the SLN! Media Group became one of the largest and most profitable American media companies, with an annual turnover of as much as $900 million (according to the Financial Times).
Controversy and Exposure[]
In August 2020, SLN! sparked backlash and was accused of making two lewd logos by the names of "Sagwa's Booty" and "Gassy Sagwa", as well as making disrespectful logos out of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. As a result, he was outed as a groomer because of roleplays with minors, and also removed from many groups involving logotypes (for example, the Phantom Studios Wiki). He also got blacklisted and banned from Harmonic Entertainment and was fired as a producer from The Rodfellows Movie. Dan P. Lyons also broke ties with him. The characters he voiced in the said film were not recast, however his work would be left uncredited.
Creating Lewd Logos/Fetishes[]
Sagwa's Booty and Gassy Sagwa[]
SLN! was accused for having sexual obsessions over the fictional characters Sagwa, The Chinese Siamese Cat, and Shantae, to the point that he created lewd logos over them. In August 2017, he created two custom logos called Sagwa's Booty and Gassy Sagwa, and a month later, YouTuber TR3X PR0DÚCTÍ0NS exposed him for his strange obsession and for the logos he created. His dad was involved with this drama, told TR3X that SLN! was not a pedophile and to block the people he was affiliated with. Eventually, SLN! apologised for creating the logos and deleted the Google+ posts and community.
According to a Kiwi Farms thread about this situation, Sagwa's Booty was a thing started by BlueCatRiolu or his supporters, and it looks like Lamont really liked to affiliate himself with other Lolcows constantly, almost intentionally, no matter what they did, Sagwa is also a feral animal. The "Gassy Sagwa" video was nuked off the interwebs, and the only evidence of it being a thing is this screenshot from an ANTI-SLN video posted in 2021.
Always in that thread, someone came across a Tumblr blog named Sagwachinesesiamesecat which appears to be probably an alternate account of Lamont, but for roleplays involving this cat, it has many of the now-deleted assets from Lamont's videos and is clearly Lamont himself and is not even trying to hide it, it has not been active since August 13, 2018.
The Sagwa's Booty and Gassy Sagwa thing was brought up again in August 2020 when he was exposed for other several actions.
Mocking the September 11 Attacks[]
SLN! also created logos that mocked the September 11 attacks like it was a harmless event. This brought along more controversy and was removed from many logo groups for this reason. He was fired as a producer for a fan movie called The Rodfellows Movie, although his voice work remained abit uncredited.
Explicit Roleplays[]
From 2017 to probably still today, SLN is known to engage sexually with users over discord messages. On December 4, 2018, he engaged in a chat with one of his victims TheHalfWays (THW), also known as Kayke, to which both users were exposed by several logo community members for their actions. However, after a little while, the members would forgive SLN!, while deeming Kayke to be behind the whole controversy.
One month later in January 2019, Kayke would write an apology on Google Docs what he did with Lamont, wanting to return to the logo community. He would put the blame on his older brother because he said he convinced him to do sexy roleplays with Shantae. However, as of 2021 some people in said community forgave Kayke after this and let him back in.
Because of this situation, SLN! also got banned (with other people) from the Phantom Studios and got inserted on their Blacklist
Hacking[]
Around Christmas of 2021, his channel has got owned by 리플코리아 and he "couped" the SLN channel and deleted all of his videos. At the beginning, only 5 people noticed it in his "ARTS Bumper" video. He later contacted YouTube via Twitter and on the same day, he came back. On the next day, he got terminated. Then another next day, he came back again.
Trivia[]
- SLN has had three discord accounts, which have since been deleted for different reasons. The first being disabled by the site itself, the second over controversy, and the third for (possibly) over moving accounts. He also had a Google+ account which was deleted when the site closed.
- According to a now-deleted Google+ post, Lamont's favorite Madagascar character was Gloria the Hippo.
- After graduating high school in 2017, SLN got accepted to Triton College in Chicago, where he attended until 2020. This is visible on his LinkedIn Account.
- According to a Discord Voice Chat he was in, he had a photo of Frisk from Undertale farting saved onto his computer.
- Also as seen in Discord and Google Hangouts VCs, he's made several cutouts out of logos, both real and his fictional companies.
- Lamont once made a tribute video to his deceased mother as seen here.
- There's a rumor in late 2018 that SLN offered someone who was 13 at the time (most likely Izu) a picture of his dick. However, it's unknown if it's actually true, as Lamont saw the message himself and thought it was an imposter who did it at first but said he's sorry for it either way.
