Douglas MacKrell, also known as the "High Exalted Big Fish", is the creator and host of the YouTube channel Secret Screening, known for the YouTube series The Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel. The series was created in honor of the popular Disney cartoon-show 'Gravity Falls', and is determined to keep 'discovering, decoding, and protecting the secrets of the hit Disney TV show, Gravity Falls.' The YouTube channel was created on April 8, 2012 and is still going today. The first meeting was uploaded on October 29, 2012.

'Give A Hoot Read A Book' giveaway was held through Douglas' 'Fishers of Truth Newsletter' because he disagreed with some of YouTube's giveaway politics.

Quote: YouTube has some VERY strict rules for those who hold giveaways, and I disagree with a few of their rules

The creative contest is a giveaway, in which the viewer have to draw a 'Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel' related drawing and send it to Douglas. All drawing sent will firstly be reviewed by: Bobby Timony, Joe Boyle and Pat Moss who are professional artists at Disney, Nickelodeon and Dreamworks Animation. They will all send their favorite drawings on to Douglas, who will then choose the ones with the most Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel spirit. Now, Douglas has admired that when he finally get the drawings from the artists, he will be unsure as to which to choose, he then goes on to say that he might make some other rewards. Quote I plan on selecting a few extra entries for prices that I have just cooked up over the past few weeks  Though the amount of entries to this giveaway is unknown, 9 people won. Douglas also made extra prices: One extra price for entries under the age of 10 - Tales of the Cryptides One extra price for entries over the age of 10 - Paranormal Proof Pack (Polaroide camera, film and a photo) (Winners under 10, Runners Up: Jason Karl, Dakota Keller) (Winner under 10: Nathan Drew) (Winners over 10, Runners Up: Megan Miller, Lydiachan22, Ellie Garrity) (Winners over 10: Afton Jagels, Cheyenne Rose) (GRAND PRICE WINNER: Fiamma Tulli) (Honorable mentions: Miranda Mason, Megan Naylor Jones, Sam Nobel, Rasmus Hartwich)

New Series

Reveled in the first 'Fishers of Truth Newsletter' is the new series that Douglas is planning on making. The name is yet not clear but Douglas had five titles himself, but also asked the readers to come up with names, Douglas's titles were Doug's Believe It or Don't, Obscure Occult, Established Enigmas, Arcane Uncovered, and World Wide Weird. But some submissions from readers also made it into the second newsletter. Their names were For Your Eyes Only, Doug's Amazing Unbelievableness, MacKrell's Mysterious Mysteries, Secrets or Bust and What You Never Knew. So those are the possible names for the series.

The new series is going to be about mysteries and weird phenomenons in real life and not just within Gravity Falls. Quote As I’ve seen from commenters, the ROotHM needs to stay Gravity Falls centric. And there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s plenty to talk about and discuss within Gravity Falls - and it’s a blast to do so! It’s just that there are a lot of bizarre, weird, secretive, and unexplainable stuff that happens in the world, and exploring & uncovering those secrets has always been a passion of mine. Although these topics are not strictly Gravity Falls related - I’m sure a lot of my followers would also be similarly interested.  In the second Live Meeting, Douglas revealed that the new series was also going to be the thing that would hold the group together after Gravity Falls has ended. He says that he wishes his biggest fans would stick around, even after Gravity Falls.

In the second Live Stream Douglas referred to his show as ...my second show about the paranormal, the bizarre and the weird.

Fan Mail

All viewers do now have the ability to send Douglas letters and such. The first video to ever have Douglas's P.O. Box in the description is 'The Mystery of Stan Pines' Everyone can send in their own mail, be it drawings or simply letters, to:

Douglas MacKrell

P.O. Box 6529

Astoria, NY 11106

This P.O. Box was also the address of which to send your drawing for the 'Creative Contest'. Leading up to the last chance for sending in entrants, Douglas just got to much mail and the postcards, which he sends out to everyone who writes to him, would have a bit of delay.

Sharing the Fan Mail

In the second Live Stream Douglas said that he would host another show every two weeks or so, just about his fan mail. This might be what is referrd to a Vlog as Douglas says the show be about At least fan mail which means that there might be more than just fan mail, in this new show.

Code Cracking 101

'Code Cracking 101' is a secondary series Douglas has made in order to help viewers crack his many secret messages. A previous version of this has already been made called How To Decipher A Substitution Code although this video was made in order to help people to decipher a code without a cipher wheel, it also shows how to use a cipher and the very basics of deciphering. Code Cracking 101 also includes one secret message at the end, this is the 'homework' of that video and works just like challenges except that completing a 'homework' challenge does not give you a reward.

The first Code Cracking 101 teaches how to use a 'Caesar Cipher' or the 'Three Letters Back Cipher'. It does this with never before seen animation of the 'Caesar Cipher' wheel turning. This animation took a lot of time to make and was very hard due to Douglas' computer, he said this on his social media.

The second Code Cracking 101 teaches how to use The Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel's decoder disks. It does this by comparing it to the 'Caesar Cipher' and using the animation seen in the first 'Code Cracking 101'. It also introduced the third decoder disk, until this point there had only been two decoder disks.

The third Code Cracking 101 teaches how to use the ATBASH cipher, as well as some of it's history. For example that it stands for Aleph-Tav-Beth-Shin

The fourth Code Cracking 101 teaches how to use the Vigenere Cipher, or as Douglas calls it - Northwest Square, as well as the history behind them. This Cipher is used to crack the codes in the second season of Gravity Falls, provided you have the key to them.

Decoder Disks

A 'Decoder Disk' is a device used in order to decode the challenges on the Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel's website. There are these decoder disks available right now.

  • Three Letters Back decoder disk can be unlocked for free in the description of the first 'Code Cracking 101' or here. Also known as the Caesar Cipher, the 'Three Letters Back' disk uses the tecnic necessary in order to decode the end text in the first six episodes of Gravity Falls as well as vervious secret messages through out the series.
  • Decoder Disk #1 is the first personal made disk by Douglas MacKrell. It can be unlocked by completing '. The 'Decoder Disks' consists of a white outer wheel with the alphabet in alphabeticle order, and a yellow inner wheel with randomly placed letters. The yellow wheel is the wheel that makes it so that the code can only be decoded with that wheel (or if it is cracked without a 'Decoder Disk' which Douglas explains in his How To Decipher A Substitution Code).

[Sometimes words from Gravity Falls can be found in the ciphers, but the yellow wheel is never in alphabeticle order]

  • Decoder Disk #2 is the second personal made disk by Douglas MacKrell. It can be unlocked by completing '. Just like 'Decoder Disk #1' this disk also consists of a white outer wheel with the alphabet in alphabetical order, and a yellow inner whell with randomly placed letters.

  • Decoder Disk #3 is the third personal made disk by Douglas MacKrell. It can be downloaded by clicking the link in the description of the second Code Cracking 101 video.

Just like 'Decoder Disk #1' and 2 this disk also consists of a white outer wheel with the alphabet in alphabetical order, and a yellow inner whell with randomly placed letters. The yellow wheel is the wheel that makes it so that the code can only be decoded with that wheel (or if it is cracked without a 'Decoder Disk' which Douglas explains in his How To Decipher A Substitution Code). [Sometimes words from Gravity Falls can be found in the ciphers, but the yellow wheel is never in alphabetical order]

  • Atbash Cipher is, just like the Caesar Cipher, locked onto the paper. Meaning that the inner circle can't be turned, like Decoder disk 1, 2 and 3. It is also almost double the size of the other disks, the previous disks can all fit in the Atbash Cipher's inner circle. It can be downloaded by clicking the link the discription of the third Code Cracking 101
  • A1Z26 is a code cracking system which Gravity Falls and the Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel use often. It means that the number ' equals the letter ', 2 equals B and so on.

It can be printed here.

  • There is also the Vigenere Cipher although this isn't a disk. It can be downloaded by clicking the link the description of the fourth Code Cracking 101 g. The Vigenere Cipher can only be used if you have the code for it.

Live Meetings

Live meetings are, as the name indicates, are meetings that are being held live. The meetings are being watched through Google+ and YouTube, and the viewers are able to interact with, and talk to Douglas. The live meetings are recorded and after the meeting, uploaded to YouTube. Live meetings are held every last Saturday of the month.

The First Live Meeting

The very first live meeting, The Secrets of Disneyland's Club 33, was held on July 26, 2014 and was about Disney's secret club - Club 33. It took 2 hours 21 minuets and 30 seconds. Doing this live meeting viewers were able to join the video on camera, if they pleased. About an hour and ten minuets in, Douglas choose one of the video-chat viewers to swear in on an all new oath for everybody, he choose the person by asking them to do the Inverted Salute if they wanted to participate. The oath was: I [State your name] do solomly swear, to discover, decode and protect the secrets of Gravity Falls. Even if someone asks me really nicely and gives me presents, like a brand new computer, one that can actually handle live-streaming and doesn't make you look like Tron-barf. No, I will keep these secrets secret or the great owl will flap out of a tree and give me the nookies of shame. He then went on to answer some questions, after the topic had ended.

The Second Live Meeting

The second live meeting, Tropical Islands Resort (BLIMP HANGER), was held on august 30, 2014 and was about a former blimp hanger which turned into a vacation goal. It took 3 hours 55 minuets and 35 seconds. 1 hour and 10 minuets in, Douglas started to read and answer the questions which he got asked before the live meeting started. Through out this live meeting there were problems with the video-chat, people were not able to join the video chat like the previous time. All though Douglas wanted them to join, there was nothing he could do, he promised to look into it next time.

The Third Live Meeting

As suggested by a viewer, Douglas will be holding a new Live Meeting only for Q&A'sQuestions and Answers It has now been pushed due to the fact that Douglas is rehearsing the play Dead End, Dummy, therefore its release date is unknown.

Secret Oath

As first seen in the video 'The Mystery of Stan Pines', the secret oath is an oath which is said at the start of each video (after the 'Mystery of Stan Pines' meeting), to make sure that no one shares their descoveries with anyone, members or not, in order to keep the secrets secret. The oath has also been said live by a member on the first livestream. The oath is made by creating an Inverted Salute and placing your hand within the outlinded hand drawn on the screen, if you are watching with a touch-screen you can touch a near wooden object. The oath goes: We the members of the Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel, do solemnly swear to descover, decode, and protect the secrets of Gravity Falls. Should we fail our noble quest, then may our faces be eaten by the Great Owl and then barfed back up as some sort of pellet that we will have to carry around as a sign of our failure.

Inverted Salute

An inverted salute is used to complete the secret oath. It is made by doing the normal salute (raise you right hand to above your ear) and then turning your hand so that the palm is facing upwards and by placing your thumb, on that hand, on your forehead.

Douglas MacKrell

Douglas is the creator, founder, writer, editor, cameraman, and voice of the YouTube channel 'BigMacKrell' which is a wordplay on his name and the McDonald's burger Big Mac. The channel, however, is called 'The Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel' and is about the cartoon series Gravity Falls.

Douglas and Gravity Falls

Douglas was first introduced to Gravity Falls after reading an io9 article about Dipper vs Manliness. This got Douglas interested in the show, and thus his love for Gravity Falls began. His favorite episode so far is The Land Before Swine.

Douglas' Girlfriend

A girl has been shown in a second show which Douglas also held at his home. It can only be assumed that the two of them knew each other, as some intimate things happened. Later in the second live stream, Douglas needed a decoder ring, he then called on a person to get the decoder ring to him. This can also only be assumed to be either his girlfriend or family member, but after the circumstances in Douglas's other show, there is a possibility it might be the same person. It may or may not be the person in the videos, but Douglas's girlfriend is called Lucy. Further information is kept secret to protect the privacy of the people involved.

Karaoke

In Into the Bunker there is a page in the journal which, when decoded, says Ice Ice Baby which is a reference to the Vanilla Ice song Ice Ice Baby. When Douglas talked about this in the meeting, the video cut to a karaoke version of this song, sung by Douglas.

Dead End, Dummy

Douglas will star in a new play by Dick D. Zigun, about The death of vaudeville and the birth of new media. Apparently he was talked into doing this by someone, we don't know who talked him into it or whether or not he is happy about it, but he has publicly shared the fact that he will be staring in it. He also talked with the director about the fact that he needed to keep his Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel schedule, to which the director, Trav S. D., agreed and promised him that he would be able to keep his schedule. Furthermore - Douglas with be playing the part of Thomas Edison, who is being hunted down by the other character in the play: Max. The show will air in October.

Douglas and the Freemasons

In the second live meeting Douglas mentioned that his brother, Matt, is a member of the Freemasons, which is how he got the opportunity to visit a Freemason meeting hall. He then goes on to say that he might join the Freemasons as well, but might not due to his very busy schedule.

Cool-hog

Cool-hog is Douglas' web comic. The first comic, called Sharing, was published April 3, 2013 on the Funnyordie page, and later (April 5, 2013) added to Cool-hog's webside.

Internet After Dark

Internet After Dark is Douglas' secondary web-series. Like with the Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel, Douglas is filming himself, usually in his chair, this time talking about other things that is happening, usually from an IO9 post.
