Shien Kageyama (born: February 25, 1998 (1998-02-25) [age 27]) is a Japanese VTuber who is associated with the company Hololive, as part of its group Holostars. He is a member of Holostars third generation alongside Oga Aragami and Kaoru Tsukishita. When the latter retired, Shien and Oga then became known as "MaFia" (魔フィア).

Content[]

Shien Kageyama debuted on April 30, 2020, and hosted two chatting streams, before streaming his first game, Mahjong Soul.

He has also streamed Among the Sleep, Dead by Daylight, Twisted Wonderland, APEX Legends, Monster Hunter World, Guilty Gear Strive, Doki Doki Litaerure Club, Getting Over It, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Dark Deception, Little Nightmares, Splatoon 2, UnderTale, Paper Mario, Knockout City, The Henry Stickmin Collection, Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes, Devour, UnderTale, Papers, please, Cooking Simulator, Phasmophobia, KUUKIYOMI, Golf It, Infliction, Left 4 Dead 2, Jump King, Suoer Bunny Man and Minecraft.

His first song cover was KING - Kanaria, and he has also covered shanti - wotaku.

He has made several ASMR videos as well.[1][2][3]

As of 2021, he has focused on making more gaming related content such as playing Fall Guys and Toraware no Palm. On March 20, he celebrated 100,000 subscribers.[4]

Collaborations[]

He would regularly collaborate with fellow third generation Holostars members, Oga and Kaoru. Back then, the three were known as "TriNero". His biggest collaboration is playing Among Us with Moona Hoshinova, Airani Iofifteen, Ayunda Risu, Kureiji Ollie, Pavolia Reine, Anya Melfissa, Arurandeisu, Aragami Oga, and Yukoku Roberu.[5]

Also a musician, he would cover several songs, and his first cover was of Fire@Flower, alongside Rikka, Astel Leda and Kanade Izuru.[6]

He has also played Monster Hunter Rise with Kuku Kazami.[7]

Roberu described Shien as a good friend, recalling how he once showed up to his house, made him breakfast, refused to sleep in his bed (he slept on the floor) and washed his dishes afterwards.[8] Many fellow talents also recall Shien being a good cook and buying food for them.[9]

Design[]

His character designer is namakawa, and his 3D modeler is Jujube. He is 176cm.[10]

Namakawa also designed Tomoe Shirayuki of Nijisanji,[11] and the two collaborate often.[12] Other VTubers designed by Namakawa include Hex Haywire.

Other[]

Despite being based of a jackal, Kageyama Shien's mascot is a cat named "Nekoyama Shien" (猫山シエン), which was drawn by his friend Aragami Oga.

  • Due to Shien's tendency to make unusual moaning sounds during streams, fans joke that if you're watching him or his clips, its best to turn down the volume.[22]
  • During his Fall Guys English-only stream, he exclaimed "OH SHIT", and was about to say "OH FUCK" when he lost a race. When he realized he had swore, he began saying "danger word" as an alternative. This was mocked by his chat.
