Tyler Millard (born: July 13, 1995 (1995-07-13) [age 29]), known online as Simian Jimmy, formerly and colloquially known as Mumkey Jones, is an American internet personality that became famous on YouTube in 2016 for his satirical and politically incorrect humor, best known for his videos analyzing spree killer Elliot Rodger, Mumkey's Anime Reviews, Mumkey's Declassified Survival Guide, The Depression Chamber streams where he reads user-submitted confessions, and his movie review podcast Is It Kino?.

He was also a member of the Pro Crastinators Podcast before being kicked out by Digibro which subsequently pushed him to start the Insufferable Social Media Argument: The Podcast

On December 11, 2018, Mumkey's channel was terminated for violating YouTube's community guidelines. His website, mumkeyjones.tv, housed most of his former videos until they were removed in late 2019. In response to the videos being removed, fans uploaded them to the Internet Archive and created a replacement website.

After Mumkey was banned from YouTube, he created a new channel called Simian Jimmy, followed by a second channel, Simian Jimmy's Treehouse.

Comedy Style

Mumkey employs a particularly dark style of humor, his videos containing jokes about suicide, death, child molestation, racism, autism, depression, and other forms of unfiltered subject matter including self-deprecation.

Despite his crass and unceremonious method of comedy, Mumkey claims to have experienced depression, anxiety and suicidal tendencies since high school, empathizing with his fans' stories as he reads them in his series "The Depression Chamber".

Early YouTube Channels (2009-2016)

Knubs

Tyler started his YouTube career in 2007 when he was 12 years old under the name "Knubs". Along with his friends he made numerous Parody videos, some parodying the show "Chris Angel Mind Freak". However, this channel was removed two years later when Tyler refused to delete a video containing copyrighted material.

Therandomhaterguy

Tyler made this channel in 2010 when he was 15. Most of the videos on this channel are hate videos to his friend Cobb, who went under the username "Rykueb02". Cobb would, in turn, make hate videos back. It is presumed that Tyler and Cobb created fake beef to obtain views.

The Mumkey and Bigs Show

During junior year of college, Tyler and his friend Branden (Bigs), made a Let's Play channel. This is the first appearance of Tyler using the name Mumkey, a combination of the words "Human" and "Monkey". Even though they uploaded twice a day for a full year, this channel received little to no viewership. This was until Tyler started uploading his satirical anime review series (known later as Mumkey's Anime Reviews). The third video in the series about B Gata H Kei went viral and reached over 400,000 views. Even though the Anime Reviews were getting more views, Tyler and Branden continued making let's play videos. That is until Bigs fell behind on his part and due to Tyler's constant pestering, Bigs deleted the channel out of spite on March 20, 2016.

Mumkey's Anime Review

This short-lived channel is where Tyler uploaded his Anime Reviews after Bigs deleted "The Mumkey and Bigs Show" channel. Here, Tyler's "B Gata H Kei" review went viral a second time. This channel was terminated when Tyler uploaded a video with the title along the lines of "Hentai XXX big boobs".

Tyler then moved to the channel he is most known for: Mumkey Jones

YouTube Channels (2016 - Present)

Mumkey Jones

On this new Channel, Mumkey transferred all of his old anime reviews and continued the series. He started reviewing more broader, non-anime topics such as Corey in the House, The Bible, and Incels. Mumkey also delved into other series such as movie reviews, mail unboxing videos, video essays, and most importantly his videos about spree killer Elliot Rodger. These videos also featured in universe characters such as Jumkey Mones, Alexa, and Uncle Alex. In 2017, he would pass 100,000 subscribers. This channel was terminated on December 11, 2018. (Scroll down to "Final Channel Termination" for details)

Mumkey Jones 2

On his second channel, Mumkey Jones did a lot of various random content, typically in a comedic fashion, such as movie reviews and live reacting to certain anime. He also had a lot of audience-oriented videos like art contests. This channel was originally called "TooDamnMumkey" and was made in response to getting two-channel strikes in 2017. However, this channel was also terminated on December 11, 2018. (Scroll down to "Final Channel Termination" for details)

Mumkey's Countdown to Suicide

This vlog channel is where Mumkey would share his and others depressive thoughts and stories. This channel would later become "All Hail Chancellor Susan" and his current channel "Simian Jimmy"

Mumkey's Gaming Expedition

This is where Mumkey did Let's Plays of various games, typically with a comedic slant to them, like with all the rest of his content. He would play games with his other internet friends, mainly Assburger. When "Mumkey Jones" got terminated in 2018, Tyler attempted to use this channel as his new main channel, and it was terminated.

Simian Jimmy

"Simian Jimmy" was formerly known as "Mumkey's Countdown to Suicide/Demonetization" and "All Hail Chancellor Susan" (due to the former YouTube CEO being Susan Wojcicki).  He now uses this account as his new main channel to host his content on YouTube, as this is the only channel he has left. When Jungle Jimmy got terminated, Mumkey renamed it "All Hail Chancellor Susan" in a comedic attempt to avoid getting terminated. At first, he used it to host Is it Kino and Boomer Vs. Zoomer, but as he ended these shows, he now uses this as his main channel. He has currently rebuilt around 170,000 of the original 300,000 subs he had.

Simian Jimmy's Treehouse

Originally called TM&BS, In September 2019, Mumkey made a new Let's Play Channel with his high school friend Bigs, reigniting their childhood series. They mainly played Spyro: Reignited, Pokémon: Black, Minecraft, and Chips Challenge. In February 2020, they started a podcast titled "The Mumkey and Bigs show". They also had a food review series called Snack Testers. Bigs eventually got a job and girlfriend, and chose to withdraw from internet celebrity. Jimmy renamed the channel to Simian Jimmy's Treehouse, and posts podcasts with his friends Florian Himsl, Eggy "Eggman" Rodriguez, The Kino Korner, Erich McCoy, and other various revolving guests. The biggest show on the channel is Is It Kino? A movie review podcast where they discuss new and classic films. Florian usually disagrees strongly with the other hosts, causing contention. The channel is also home to the Simian Jimmy Treehouse Podcast, Survivor Simulator games, and watchalong podcasts of various TV shows such as She-Hulk, Breaking Bad, and Velma. The channel also hosts random un-themed streams, and Trash Rats International, a revival of a the previous Trash Rats podcast with new hosts replacing Rusty and Reactor.

Monkey Mafioso

This is a small re-upload ahd shitpost channel, where old deleted videos and behind the scenes clips are posted.

The channel "Jungle Jimmy" is not listed as it was created and operated by Tyler's girlfriend at the time, Sheepover, and not Mumkey.

Mumkey struck gold on June 1, 2016, when his "B Gata H Kei" video went viral for the third time. This time, ending up on the front page of Reddit with over 12k upvotes. He was also promoted on The Philip Defranco Show as Phil's secret link. Mumkey gained over 10,000 subscribers from this post. Along with all these views came new fans, including his future girlfriend, Sheepover, who found Mumkey through YouTube. Mumkey and Sheepover would eventually move to North Carolina. This is when Mumkey would create the "Mumkey's Countdown to Suicide" channel and "Mumkey's Gaming Expedition". He also befriended fellow YouTuber Branden Ocampo, AKA Assburger.

Pro Crastinators Podcast

Mumkey vs. Digibro

On August 28, 2016, Mumkey joined the Pro Crastinators Podcast (PCP) with internet personalities: Digibro, BestGuyEver, EndlessJess, and Ben Saint. Digibro was early to befriend Mumkey and had a relatively close friendship with him. However, Digibro had less favorable opinions of trolls Cream Man, Mr. MeatMan, Princess Natlord, and Bedhead Bernie, who Mumkey was friends with.

Well into late 2017, Mumkey's troll friends would start trolling Pro Crastinator member Endless Jess. After 6 months of trolling, Digibro would repeatedly ask Mumkey to stop associating with these people. EndlessJess eventually got frustrated and left the podcast, with Mumkey being blamed and kicked out of the PCP. Controversy ensued with people saying it was unfair for Mumkey to be kicked out for what his friends did.

Channel Termination (2017)

Within the first two months of 2017, Mumkey received two community guidelines strikes. One for his video "Top Ten Most Lethal Suicide Methods" and another for an unspecified video. Just in case, Mumkey made the channel "TooDamnMumkey" (later called Mumkey Jones 2) as a backup. Just 3 hours after uploading "Mumkey's Declassified Sharia Law Survival Guide", his channel was removed for hate speech.

Mumkey soon went onto Tommy C's live stream where he gave his side of the story. a YouTube Trusted Flagger simply named "Ben" was listening to the stream and submitted an appeal to YouTube, restoring Mumkey's channel and getting rid of the community guidelines strikes.

Elliot Rodger Videos

In late 2017, Mumkey would start uploading the videos that he mostly came to be known for: his videos about spree killer Elliot Rodger. On May 23, 2014, incel Elliot Rodger would murder 7 people including himself in what became known as the Isla Vista Shootings. Afterward, members of the media would use this shooting to support their political agendas while ignoring the facts and motives Elliot revealed in his manifesto. Feeling annoyed by this, Mumkey made "Elliot Rodger | Mumkey's Anime Reviews #28", in which he pointed out that Elliot's massacre came from feeling unloved and his hatred for women.

One might believe that Mumkey is praising Elliot, but upon further viewing, it is obvious that he is using sarcasm to make his audience see how crazy someone would have to be to justify Elliot's actions. These videos also made fun of Elliot's ideology in order to deter incels to see him as a hero, by exposing his idiotic actions, Elliot wouldn't be seen as a martyr. Mumkey sees Elliot as his own worst enemy.

Munkey Jones Stops A School Shooting

In mid-2018 Derek Savage, creator of the infamous "Cool Cat" series, made an Indiegogo campaign in order to create his new movie, "Cool Cat Stops a School Shooting". Not surprisingly (due to his edgy humor) Mumkey promoted the project heavily and even convinced Derek Savage to cast him as the school shooter character in the film. With Mumkey's audience, the project was able to raise just under $10,000 out of the $25,000 goal. However, when the goal was not met, Savage changed the subject of the movie leaving Mumkey's fans outraged. Mumkey urged his viewers to get a refund and mocked Derek Savage, saying that he could make a movie just as good using a budget of $5. On August of 2018, Mumkey released his own film, called "Munkey Jones Stops a School Shooting." (with the word "mumkey" being purposely misspelled) Mumkey would look back on filming this as the happiest he had ever been, and the high point of his career on YouTube.

Diary of a Supreme Gentlemen

In collaboration with Bedhead Bernie, Mumkey made a series of videos analyzing the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books. In those series of videos Mumkey Jones came to the conclusion that the main protagonist Greg Heffley and the author of the series, Jeff Kinney, were sociopaths. Along with these videos, Mumkey started a GoFundMe campaign in which he would write a shortened version of Elliot Rodger's manifesto in the style of the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books. After reaching $10,000, the GoFundMe was deleted. He then created a response video targeted at Jeff Kinney encouraging his audience to promote #WimpySociopath on Twitter. Shortly after, all the videos were deleted and Mumkey has been silent on the topic ever since. Fans speculate that Jeff Kinney threatened Mumkey with legal action and was forced to delete the videos, though this isn't proven.

Black Friday 2018

On Friday, November 23, 2018, Mumkey reviewed a Discord call from his friend Jackie, the girlfriend of his close friend Assburger, who was allegedly being beaten by him. Mumkey immediately called the police who then arrested Burger, against Jackie's wishes. When Mumkey mentioned on Twitter that Assburger wouldn't be in any future videos, Jackie doxxed Mumkey's full name and spread false rumors over Discord. In defense, Mumkey released a video explaining the situation in full detail, which turned both Jackie and Burger against him. On August 2nd, 2019, Mumkey released a video called "Debunking Assburger's lies with Facts and Logic", in which he provides evidence against Jackie's false rumors and goes on the offensive.

Final Channel Termination (2018)

On December 11, 2018, both Mumkey’s main and secondary channel were in trouble with two strikes that were given to each channel. Mumkey made a previously unlisted video public explaining what had happened since the strikes, that prevented him from uploading. Not long after, a third manual strike was put on a privatized (and unviewed) video of his, terminating his channel indefinitely. The strikes were all given on the same day with five of the six strikes being on videos based around Elliot Rodger.

On December 13, after attempts to regain his channel, YouTube responded to Mumkey claiming that his Elliot Rodger videos violated their community guidelines, though many fans and YouTubers pointed out that there were far worse videos still up on YouTube. It was obvious to Mumkey and viewers alike that this was a targeted attack by either YouTube itself or a disgruntled YouTube employee. When Mumkey tried to convert his Let's Play channel into the main channel, YouTube terminated that as well. A month later, Mumkey released a video, titled "Jimmy's Declassified YouTube Termination Survival Guide" in which he defended himself and ordered YouTube to remove the strikes and reinstate the channel.

The video also introduced his girlfriend's new channel "Jungle Jimmy"; a satellite channel that re-uploaded videos from Mumkey's website. A day later, after rebuilding about 80k of the original 300k subs he had Jungle Jimmy was then also terminated. After briefly moving to Twitch, Mumkey started uploading to his "All Hail Chancellor Susan" Channel, now calling it "Simian Jimmy". Since 2019, it's now believed that YouTuber SkipDip was responsible for Mumkey's 2018 termination since SkipDip was a YouTube Moderator at the time and was responsible for other channel terminations. However, it is unlikely that the perpetrator will ever be caught.

Cheating Scandal and Subsequent Drama

In January of 2019, Mumkey and his friend Asterios Kokinos went to Brooklyn to perform a live show of their podcast "Boomer vs. Zoomer". It's here when Mumkey Jones crossed paths with Liu the Kitty, an ephebophile furry artist who specialized in drawing sexual images of underage furries. A 21-year-old Liu was a huge fan of Mumkey as was her 15-year-old boyfriend, Dillan. After the show, Mumkey had a fan meetup at a nearby bar, where he spent most of his time talking to Liu. When she got too drunk and had to go home, Mumkey messaged her asking if she got home safely and wanted to know if they wanted to meet up again. A week later Mumkey rented a hotel room in New York where he and Liu took acid and had sex. Before he headed back to his girlfriend's house in North Carolina Mumkey gave Liu his shirt and a necklace as a way to propose a relationship.

Throughout Mumkey's affair he would occasionally criticize Sheepover through conversations he had with Liu. It was revealed that he felt emasculated by Sheepover because, due to her high paying job, she was now the breadwinner in the relationship. He also promoted Liu to a moderator in his Twitch streams, which aroused suspicion from a few people. Things came to a climax when Liu decided to break up with Mumkey, feeling guilty about the situation. Knowing this information was highly likely to get out, Mumkey confessed to Sheepover. Sheep told him she already had suspicions when she saw Mumkey and Liu talking on Snapchat. In an attempt to come clean and control the narrative, Mumkey released a video titled "My Depression Chamber" confessing to what he did. This was the beginning of a series of rather personal videos being uploaded.

Tyler's confession

24 days later, Mr. Meatman uploaded an exposé where he interviewed Liu and established a timeline of the cheating. This was also the time where most fans were introduced to Liu the Kitty and her unfavorable activities. Additionally, it was revealed that Mumkey knew about the cub porn Liu drew, but did not know about her 15-year-old boyfriend. After couples counseling, Mumkey and Sheep decided it was best if they broke-up, so Mumkey went back to Iowa. It was here where on June 22, 2019, Mumkey made his "State of Affairs" video where he responded to Mr. Meatman's video and claimed to now be on anti-depressants. He said that he felt much better, not only because of the drugs but because of his newly adopted cat, Blaze. Also, much to the dismay of his viewers, Mumkey announced that he was back together with Liu.

Adding to the flames of controversy, on July 8th Mumkey announced that he was engaged to Liu. However, this took some convincing as before the engagement he made Liu decide between him and the 15-year-old. This soured Mumkey's relationship with his brother, who expressed his frustrations on Twitter. The next few days were arduous for Mumkey, as Liu proved that he couldn't fix her. Mumkey soon left her with money and sent her back to New York, ending their relationship. A day later, a sex tape was leaked.

Simian Jimmy and Back to Normalcy

After moving back to Iowa and breaking up with Liu, Tyler got back in touch with his friend Bigs Bigsington. He made more videos with Bigs and his new kitten, Blaze. Along with continuing reviewing his old short films, he uploaded a new episode of Mumkey's Anime Reviews, which had ended 2 years prior. Along with reviving his old Let's Play channel with Bigs, he returned to his edgy roots with the video "Top Ten Words that Rhyme with Bigger" and "History of Humanity". He also started a new series based on his "Wheel of Punishment" videos called "Wheel of Cursed Meals". He continued collaborations with Reactor and Rusty Cage with the podcast "TrashRats", which replaced "State of the YouTube". He also started uploading more improvisational videos without a script and continues to stream on Twitch. He also frequently collaborates with musician and internet personality Eggy.

Present

Previously fearing losing his support system, income, and fans through terminations of his accounts under Mumkey Jones, Mumkey continues to upload comedic skits and podcasts under Simian Jimmy and Simian Jimmy's Treehouse, regaining an audience. Mumkey uses his Twitter account under @SimianJimmy, and launched a Patreon. In 2021, he revitalized the "Gumbly" and "Graggle Simpson" memes, a character from The Simpsons that does not exist and was drawn into screenshots of episodes. Episodes of Is It Kino? and Depression Chamber streams are posted through Simian Jimmy's Treehouse.
