Controversy[]
CPR song cover[]
On February 16, 2023, Sinder uploaded a metal version song cover of Cpr by cupcakKe. In the channel description, she thanked Numi for encouraging her to make music and allowing her to use her 3.0 outfit in the video.[12] Sinder uploaded a teaser for her cover on Twitter, which was praised by many of her friends including Senz, Merry, Hyanna Natsu, Leizu Shen, Numi, MeowMoonified, Vienna, Bao The Whale, Kage and OniGiri.[13] However, it was mass disliked and critisized by many Twitter users, with several ridiculing Sinder's singing voice.[14] YouTubers such as Dumbsville and Veridis Joe also bashed it, with the former calling it "straight garbage".[15][16]
The original tweet was also ratioed by a quote tweet that said "ive seen fnf fans make better metal music im not joking" (which had 69K likes compared to the original tweet which had 20K likes).[17]
Many VTubers such as Mana Futakuchi, Vienna and Aoki Sugi spoke in defense of Sinder, saying that she did not deserve the hateful comments being thrown at her direction and that since it was her first time, she was inexperienced, hence her singing sounding off.[18][19] Even professional musician Johnathon Young joined in her defense and tweeted "don't use my work as an example to gatekeep or criticize other artists. as a professional metal artist, I welcome @SinderVTuber & "seriously horny ara ara voices" into the metal community i've had people drag me and my work by saying it's "not real metal" too. stop it.".[20]
Nanoless scandal[]
On April 26, 2025, an artist named Nanoless, who worked with Sinder for many years, publicly terminated working relations with her, and published a document accusing Sinder and her manager and boyfriend called REDACTED, of abusive behavior, including the attempts of making Nanoless work with Sinder on an exclusive basis while sabotaging projects for other clients.[21] Soon after, a VTuber Bao, who was Sinder's friend for multiple years, confirmed that her projects were cancelled by Nanoless (back then, she attributed that to health issues, while the real reason was REDACTED's manipulations).[22]
Later that day, Sinder posted on X that REDACTED would "no longer be managing or overseeing my vtuber activities. He no longer represents me as a creator, my brand, or my intentions."[23] This sparked many questions among her fanbase, with another VTuber, Vampeaches, stating: "I remember playing Phasmophobia with you and hearing RED chat away next to you before you first debuted like 4 years ago. You told me he was your boyfriend. Then before we met for Twitchcon you switched up and said 'just so you know my manager is coming with me on this trip' as if I didn't know who he was. It's even ickier to read this tweet knowing he is your significant other and that you're probably going to try and avoid taking responsibility for hurting people who trusted you as friends by nuking the RED side of this duo."[24]
This led to an unprecedented domino effect among the VTuber community, with upwards of six separate VTubers and content creators either writing Google documents or making responses regarding their experiences with her, accusing her of various misdeeds, such as cheating on her partner, over-competing and trying to sabotage the careers of others, gaslighting and manipulating editors into doing work for her, and stealing models and rigs from others.[25][26][27][28][29] Her Discord server has reportedly been locked a few hours afterwards.[citation needed]
On April 27th, 2025, Sinder posted a 7-page long Google document [30], her response and apology regarding the scandal. This response garnered heavy backlash from the VTuber community. It was viewed as insincere and unapologetic, and was generally unaccepted by the community. Many stated that she was continuing to manipulate and gaslight her fanbase, and was still shifting the brunt of the blame onto RED instead of taking responsibility. Fellow VTuber Shylily stated in a reply: "Everything you do is out of competition through your constant need to one-up the people who are the sole reason you even have these opportunities & platforms to earn from to begin with. [...] You claim that 'it's just business' well, in the business world, there has to be accountability & all you've done is try to shove it away & admit to nothing. In true narcissistic fashion you're only feeling sorry about yourself & your own consequences & your career & try to salvage it."[31]
As a result, Sinder is rapidly losing followers on multiple platforms. Over the span of roughly 48 hours, Sinder fell from 352K to 339K subscribers on YouTube[32] and from 343K to 332K followers on Twitch.[33] Since then, Sinder has quietly disappeared from all platforms, and her follower counts continue to decrease.
Partnerships[]
On November 25, 2022, Sinder and Numi were sponsored to play the Azur Lane x Atelier Ryza 2&3 collaboration event.[34]
On November 27, 2022, FalseEyeD tweeted that he was scheduled to make an appearance at Anime Los Angeles from January 5-8 2023. Sinder, Nekomancer, RiiKami, Numi, Kage and Tob were to appear as guests on his panel.[35] On January 28, 2023, Weebcon announced that Sinder, SenZ, Yuzu, Nihmune, FeFe, Onigiri, Chibidoki, Rainhoe, FalseEyeD, Bao, Trickywi, Vienna and rpr, amongst others, would appear at their convention.[36]
Gamer Supps[]
Eric Frayman, Ryan Morrison, and Ryan Garvey founded Gamer Supps in 2015.[37] Youtuber Jschlatt bought a small part of the company in 2021, but in May 2022, he bought an even bigger part of around 70% shares, becoming the owner of the company.[38][39] In January 2024, Vtuber Shylily became a partial owner, with her owning 5% share of the company.[40][39] In January 2025, Sinder became a partial owner, with her owning 10% share of the company.[41][39] In April 2025, Youtuber SMii7Y became a partial owner, owning an unknown percentage shares of the company.[42][43]
