Nick (born: July 1, 1999 (1999-07-01) [age 25]), better known online as Softwilly (formerly TheLazyWabbit), is an American YouTuber known for his videos recorded on Discord with his friends.
He is also a member of The Group and co-hosts their podcast, along with isaacwhy, Yumi, BigT, LarryCroft, and Grunk. Since 2022, he has resided in Austin, Texas with the prior four members.
Similar to some of his friends, Nick's content mainly consists of videos recorded on the messaging and voice chatting app Discord, where he engages in shenanigans with his friends. He also has a vlog channel, known as Willy, where he has posted videos following him and the other members of The Group since they moved in together in late 2022.
History[]
Before he became Softwilly, Nick's main online nickname was "The Lazy Wabbit".[1] He created his YouTube channel on October 21, 2013, though he would not upload his first video until 2015.[2] Following this, Nick would when make a few videos based on Minecraft and Dead Realm. His channel then went on a hiatus.
Now known as Softwilly, Nick returned to YouTube in 2018. By this point, he had met some of his close friends, namely isaacwhy and Chewie. They would begin to make "Discord Meme" videos together, with Softwilly posting his first Discord video (a blooper video), in late 2018.[3] The video became popular, and the group would continue to make meme videos that gained traction throughout early 2019, eventually reaching over 100,000 subscribers in May. He'd then branch out into longer Discord videos by mid-2019.
Nick's main channel reached 1 million subscribers in September 2022. After moving in with the other members of The Group, he launched a vlog channel in November 2022.[4] It became an instant success, surpassing 100,000 subscribers in the same month.[5] As of recent, Softwilly continues to create various forms of content on YouTube.
Personal life[]
Nick was born on July 1, 1999, and grew up in the U.S. state of New Jersey.[6] He, along with isaacwhy, LarryCroft, and BigT, then moved to Austin, Texas in the summer of 2022.[7] They were followed by Yumi later that year.[8]
