Sonic Paradox is an American[1] YouTube channel that creates art and animation videos based around the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.[2] They are mostly known for their Sonic Shorts series.[3]
History[]
Sonic Paradox created their channel on May 22, 2009.[1] They started off by posting videos of the Sonic Shorts series, which gained millions of views.[4][5][6][7][8] On May 19, 2010, Sonic Paradox released their first dub on YouTube.[9] Two months later, they announced Project 20, which served as the biggest collaboration in the Sonic community.[10] On April 29, 2012, Sonic Paradox announced their Minecraft server, which is no longer public due to a lack of moderators.[11] The channel reached 100,000 subscribers between 2013 and 2014.[12]
On August 24, 2013, they uploaded the 8th volume of Sonic Shorts, which ended with a final animation by Comick and Boozerman featuring the Sonic characters beating up the overall animators of Sonic Paradox.[13] Despite this, they said that Sonic Shorts isn't over but is just taking a long break.[14] They also announced they're working on a new project, "Sega Shorts",[14] which finally released in December 2018.[15] In the meantime, Sonic Paradox started a spin-off called Sonic Seconds for more quicker and shorter animations.[16]
After almost 11 years, Sonic Shorts finally returned with a 9th volume on June 2024, featuring old and new animators alike.[17]
