Sony Music Entertainment India Pvt. Ltd. is an Indian record label operated by Sony in Chennai, India.
History[]
In 1997, Sony, a Japanese corporation, became the first record company in India to be 100% foreign-owned with Sony Music India.
From December 2013 to March 2020, the company distributed Warner Music Group's releases for the Indian and SAARC market, until the establishment of the Warner Music India division.[1]

On September 2, 2009, Sony Music India created their YouTube channel. The first video was uploaded on October 5, 2009, titled "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai- Official Video | Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik | Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji".[2]
