History[]
The label was found in 1999 by Eelko van Kooten and Roger de Graaf in Hilversum, Netherlands.
To "create a buzz", the label used to promote songs without naming the artist. Now, the label provides A&R, management, publishing and (digital) marketing for artists they have under contract.
Spinnin' Records currently maintains 21 active sub-labels with a majority being performed by one or two of their artists each and nearly 100 musicians on their current roster, occasionally collaborating with artists from other nations. It is the world's leading dance record label.
On their official website, aspiring Dutch artists can upload and share their music to the Spinnin' Records talent pool for Spinnin' to watch, listen, and possibly sign to their record.
In September 2017, Warner Music Group acquired Spinnin' Records for over 100 million dollars. Shortly afterwards, Van Kooten left the company while De Graaf became the CEO of it.
