Lukather has been Toto's lead guitarist since its formation. Lukather has appeared on every single Toto album. Lukather sings lead on Toto songs, I Wont Hold you back, 99 and Afraid of Love.[citation needed]

Besides his career with Toto, Lukather has made several solo albums.

In 1989, he released his first titled Lukather.[2][3]

In 1994, he followed the album up with Candyman.[4] The album had David Paich of Toto as well Toto's second drummer Simon Phillps play on it.[5]

In 1997, he released his third album titled Luke.[6][7]

In 2003, he released his fourth album Santamental. The album was a holiday album.[8][9]

In 2008, he released his fifth album Ever Changing Times.[10]

In 2010, he released his sixth album All's Well That Ends Well.[11]

In 2013, he released his seventh album Transition.[12]

In 2021, Lukather released his eighth album I Found the Sun Again.[13]

In 2023, Lukather released his most recent and ninth album Bridges.[14]
