John Walsh, better known online as Super Eyepatch Wolf, is an Irish YouTuber who does analytical-style videos on primarily anime, but occasionally manga and video games as well. His primary series is titled Why You Should Watch.

Content

The channel mainly focuses on the aspects of anime breaking down the mechanics of how shows are created, their appeal, the components that make up those shows, and sometimes even why they've declined, are lacking in appeal, or he feels they're less than good. He prefers reviewing media he likes, and says that he does not like focusing on anime he has negative opinions on, unless it has missed potential or an interesting story. His Naruto review revealed that he is critical of the pressurised and heavy working conditions for mangaka, and opts to blame the companies that put standards on the workers rather than them for the decline of manga. He has also discussed what makes shonen manga stand out, such as Hunter X Hunter's formula of realism instead of going for the power fantasy that most shonen's utilize, Dragon Ball's use of villains for multiple arcs and Bleach's lack of wordbuilding and fleshed out characters.

Regarding video games, he loves Shenmue, until the third game, including it into his list of least favorite things of 2020 including the pandemic and the threats of WW3.

Occasionally he will talk about real life events such as the world of China's fake martial arts, fake physics, wrestling, the impact of The Simpsons of popular culture. He is also an advocate for LGBT rights and equality for races, and will often stream for charities supporting those causes.

He released a book titled "The Bizarre World of Fake Video Games" in July 2025.
