Anita (born: July 28, 1990 (1990-07-28) [age 35]), is an English Twitch streamer who usually streams games and reacts to content.

Content[]

On YouTube, she started to make videos about her experiences of gaming while batting Tourette's Syndrome. She would often make vlogs and answer Q&As about her struggle with the illness. Her other content includes commentary videos, reacting to Tourette's related videos, creating tier lists and streams of her playing APEX Legends, Jump King, Among Us, Grand Theft Auto and Truth or Dare.

She has collaborated with Talia Mar, Tubbo, Code Miko, Amouranth, Anthony Padilla, Corpse Husband, Susu jpg and Valkyrae throughout her YouTube career.

Apart from appearing on Twitch speed dating shows, Anita has also worked with other streamers for the Make A Wish foundation.[1]

Controversy[]

Saying the N word[]

In late 2019, during a Twitch stream, Anita became the center of controversy when blurted out the N word due to her Tourette's Syndrome, and the fact that her Twitch chat was spamming it.[2] She was then subsequently banned from Twitch. Several other streamers called her out, accused her of being racist and advocated for her to be deplatformed, which led to a debate between another side who advocated for Anita to stay as it wasn't her fault and due to an uncontrollable illness. Anita herself made a video where she apologized and detailed her thoughts of the situation. It was met with positive reception, with several commentators understanding that it wasn't done deliberately and that banning Anita itself was a discriminatory act, even comparing it to being offended at a paralyzed person for not walking.[3]

Stalker[]

On September 27, 2020, she made a video where she revealed that she was a victim of a stalker and the authorities were refusing to help.[4] The stalker would make public threats where he threatened to assault and kill her. When Penguinz0 made a video[5] where he was discussing stalkers.

Personal Life[]

Family[]

Anita's parents met while they were skateboarding, though they separated shortly after Anita was born.[7] Her mother was often ill, so Anita was her primary caretaker from a young age. The family suffered from financial issues.[8] In her mother's absence, she was raised by her father, but her stepmother was heavily abusive, and assumed her Tourette's tics were her deliberately misbehaving. She also once shook Anita's broken arm in an attempt to prove it was fake.

Anita learned that she had Tourette's late in life because her doctors intentionally withheld the diagnosis from her.[9]
