TT Games Limited[2], commonly referred to as TT Games (stylized as Tt Games), is an English[1] video game developer and publisher known for the development and publishing of LEGO video games.[3] It is a subsidary of Warner Bros. Games, a division of Warner Bros. Discovery.[4]

Origins[]

Traveller's Tales[]

Traveller's Tales is a video game developer founded in 1989 by Jon Burton and Andy Ingram. The company developed games such as Leander, Mickey Mania, Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue!, and Haven: Call of the King.[5]

Giant Interactive[]

Giant Interactive (now TT Games Publishing) is a video game publisher founded in 2004 by Johnathan Smith and Tom Stone.[6]

Merger[]

In April 2005, Traveller's Tales bought Giant Interactive and merged with it to form TT Games.[7]

Owned by Warner Bros.[]

In November 8, 2007, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment bought TT Games.[8]

YouTube History[]

The TT Games channel was created on June 2, 2017, and posted the first video "LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga - Announce Trailer" on June 9, 2019. Before going inactive, the channel posted trailers of one of the games they developed, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Controversy[]

A report by Polygon states that current and former TT Games employees have told it about the crunch culture, negative treatment towards women within the company, and disagreements between management and staff within the company. According to the report, some employees expressed frustration and exhaustion as management expected them to work in overtime regularly. Other employees said that women were faced with bullying, harassment, withheld promotions, and one of the worst pay gaps of game studios in the UK. Additionally, TT Games created an engine called NTT to use in the upcoming LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga game to avoid paying Unreal Engine, but employees didn't like the new engine as it caused problems for them. Despite the criticism, management still pushed for the employees to use NTT.[9]
