Team GB is an British YouTube channel that participates as Great Britain (United Kingdom) for the Olympics. Athletes from the United Kingdom compete as part of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Olympic Team, currently branded "Team GB".[1]

Great Britain first participated in the Olympics between April 6 to April 15, 1896, hosted by Athens, Greece.
In 1905, the British Olympic Association (BOA) was founded and recognized.
Great Britain hosted the 1908 Summer Olympics in London.
Great Britain was going to host the 1944 Summer Olympics in London, but due to World War II, it got cancelled. Great Britain hosted the 1948 Summer Olympics after the cancellation.
After the nation's poor performance in the 1996 Summer Olympics, The name was trademarked in September 1999 at the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office (UK IPO).
Great Britain hosted the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Athletes from Northern Ireland can choose to compete for either the UK or the Republic of Ireland.
