Matthew Julius Taylor (born: January 18, 1971
), better known online as Techmoan, is an English YouTuber. Videos on that channel are about various technologies, often retro technology. Topics include physical recording formats and equipment that plays them, sound systems, cameras of various sorts, and cooking equipment.Mat says that his site and making videos about this gives him a reason to buy gadgets. He demonstrates revivals of previously discontinued tech such as the Nixie Tube and variants, while other videos show him repairing old, rare devices.
Techmoan also said in a video about a 8 Track Game that he does not repair other people's devices as it risks dissatisfied customers. However, these videos can function as repair tutorials.
There are also seventy-two comedy videos starring The Moans. A younger man and his wife live together with his parents. It is implied in one of the videos that his mother works outside the home. He also has a Sister In Law. Mr. Moan has a YouTube Channel named "Youtube Pedant" which is featured in the videos. Sometimes they appear in other videos. In 2024, Mr. Moan, Sr. cameoed in Sony's 360º cassette player from 1982 also.
