Kelly Van Achte^{[citation needed]} (born: June 9, 1994 (1994-06-09)), better known online as The Act Man is an American YouTuber, best known for his game reviews.

History

On December 7, 2017, he uploaded his most popular video called Why Is Call of Duty: WWII SO BAD?!, in which he reviews the game. It became viral and boosted his popularity on YouTube. The video was part of his most popular series, WHY IS (game) SO BAD/AWESOME/MEDIOCRE/FORGETTABLE/A MASTERPIECE, in which he mainly reviews First Person Shooters. He also had a series called WHY (game) NEEDS/DESERVES A SEQUEL, in which he discusses why games need a sequel. His most known video on it covers Star Wars Republic Commando.^{[citation needed]}

He has a brother who shares his love of videogames and who also occasionally appears in his videos. He has mentioned that he has a girlfriend, and according to a Twitter post, they met at a bowling alley on March 11, 2019. At times his brother will listen to a music playlist of skull trumpet remix's/variants when playing Halo.

According to certain clips from a few of his videos, he's trained to use melee weapons such as swords and nunchakus.^{[citation needed]}

He also runs another channel called Act Man TV, where he posts gameplay videos, custom game nights with his patrons and ranking videos. the channel lay dormant for a while but he has made a return and wants to post more there in the future.^{[citation needed]}

Controversies

Feud with Damian Prosalendis

In August 2018, Youtuber Damian Prosalendis would make a video ranting about why people who enjoy video games and anime are losers. It would take the Act Man to take 4 months to respond to the video before finally on November 25, 2018, The Act Man covered the topic with a video called "Millionaire Douche Thinks You're a Loser If You Play Video Games", which gained traction and became Viral. This would result in Damian to go on Twitter and boast about how he gained 30,000 views and 4000 comments on his video in one night, sarcastically thanking The Act Man. The Act Man would quote tweet his take and thank him for (at the time) over 325,000 views, 30k likes, 10k comments and over 4,000 subscribers.

Feud with AndyPants Gaming

On September 10, 2024, YouTuber AndyPants Gaming made a video titled "Woke Youtubers", which included The Act Man. On September 20, Act man had a Live Debate with Andy on Andy's channel, Andy later Copyright Striked Act Man's channel, but on September 23, retracted the Copyright Strike. The same day, Act man reuploaded the entire debate on his own channel.
