Toms Burkovskis[3], better known as Tobu (stylised as 7obu[citation needed]), is a Latvian[citation needed] electronic music producer known for several of his tracks, such as Higher, Candyland and Colors. He is currently signed to English record label NCS (NoCopyrightSounds).[citation needed]
Personal Life[]
As a child, Burkovskis did not have any musical education, despite being interested in music and musical instruments. However, he eventually taught himself how to create his own music. Prior to becoming a musician, he was a freelance web developer.[3]
History[]
Burkovskis created his YouTube channel on December 1, 2011. The first video uploaded onto his channel was his track, Storm! It's Coming!.[4] Since then, he has created many more tracks, some of which have become extremely popular, with many of them surpassing one million views on YouTube. Some of his most popular tracks include Higher, Colors, Candyland, Infectious and Cloud 9, all of which have surpassed ten million views on YouTube, with Higher being his most viewed video, having surpassed twenty-five million views on YouTube.[5]
History with NCS[]
On January 26, 2014, Tobu made his debut on NoCopyrightSounds with his song Seven. He has continued to work with NCS, releasing some of his most popular songs and becoming one of the most well known artists of the label. However, on March 9, 2023, contracts he signed for tracks released between 2013-2015 expired, causing these videos to be removed from the NCS channel.[6]
