He's best known for several series of general Anime Analysis, such as Anatomy of Anime and Hot Takes, although his channel primarily focused on the Dragon Ball Franchise. He's currently moved towards he reviewing, in depth, each arc of various different manga, such as Hunter x Hunter, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, One Piece, Berserk and Naruto, with the addition that he never watched or seen much about most of them before he reviews them.
He created his channel on April 5, 2009, started making videos on November 11, 2015. According to his response video regarding copyright claims, he used to work with Toei Animation for promotional materials.
Copyright Takedowns by Toei
On December 7, 2021, over 150 of his videos has been taken down and blocked by Toei Animation. They blocked videos such as Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and even drawings. He then made a response video. Many fans and YouTubers alike supported Mark and hoped that the problem will be solved and his videos will be reinstated. He manage to get about 19 videos back. He then reached out to Toei and Eiichiro Oda with an open letter. However, upon further inspection of the timing of the takedowns, the cause of the controversy is automation by the YouTube copyright bots.
On January 26 2022, Mark posted an update announcing the situation had been resolved, at least to a point as the videos Toei had flagged were allowed to stay up in every country but Japan, to protect Mark from Toei wielding Japanese copyright law if they attempted another raft of takedowns. What was also revealing was that, according to a contact at YouTube who had got in contact with Mark, Toei had not only been sending takedown notices directly to YouTube but, when asked by YouTube for justification, broke YouTube regulations by using their own tools to try and takedown Mark's videos themselves making every last takedown attempt null and void.
