Malinda Kathleen Reese (born: June 27, 1994), better known online as Translator Fails, is an actress and singer best known for her Google Translate Sings series. She takes the lyrics of popular songs, puts them through several layers of Google Translate, then translates it back to English and then sings the results. Her first video in the GTS series was a rendition of "Let It Go" from Disney's Frozen. Since then, she has done GTS versions of other Disney songs, Broadway hits and various pop songs such as Miley Cyrus's "Wrecking Ball" and Adele's "Hello". She often dresses up as characters from the songs.
The phrase "Gradually watermelon" is a meme on the channel, originating from the video Google Translate Sings: "Shape of You" by Ed Sheeran. Malinda had made Gradually watermelon merch.
In addition to GTS, Malinda does covers of songs she likes and collaborates with other YouTubers like Andrew Huang.
She started a second channel under the name MALINDA which she will primarily use for her original songs and more personal videos.
She released her first EP on September 14, 2018, called "Love Letter".
