Daniel Warren-Biers (born: September 15, 1987 (1987-09-15) [age 38]), better known online as Troydan, is a Canadian YouTuber well known for his NBA 2K videos. He also does MLB The Show videos. He currently resides in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

History and style[]

Troydan was born in Toronto, Canada. As a kid, he developed a liking towards video games, basketball and the WWF he was a fan of Kobe Bryant and the Lakers.[1]

When he received a camera phone in 2006 Troydan joined YouTube on January 22, 2006. His first video was uploaded on January 25, 2006, and is titled Bad Basketball Players - Troydan. In 2008 Troydan started to stream on justin.tv (which was later bought out by twitch) these streams consisted of him doing prank calls some of these clips where archived on a different channel called Troydan Dump.[2] In 2013 he started streaming on Twitch and in 2014 he started gaining a audience while playing the game world of Warcraft, this led to him quitting his job and becoming a full time streamer.[3] He then started streaming NBA 2k15 when it came out and started uploading some of his stream highlights on his YouTube channel. from here his channel began to grow and he has since uploaded 1 thousand plus videos and hit 1 million subscribers in 2017.[4]

Troydan’s style is often described as loud, energetic, comedic, especially in pack openings, reactions, challenge content, etc. This has made him popular among younger gaming audiences.

NBA 2k[]

Troydan uploaded his first 2k video in October of 2014 and has continued to play the series ever since. This has involved individual series such as the “Wheel of 2k draft”, “The Celebrity Draft” and the “TikTok draft”.[5] He also does pack openings where there is usually some sort of punishment/stipulation if he doesn’t pull the right card. He has spent thousands of dollars in the process of making these videos.[6]

Other sports games[]

Troydan is also known for playing games such as MLB the Show,[7] WWE 2k,[8] UFC and Madden[9] he has also occasionally played games from both the FiFA and NHL series.[10] He is also known to do head to head challenges with fans for money.[11]

IRL/Vlog videos[]

In August of 2017 Troydan uploaded his first vlog titled Troydan left the house! My first ever vlog!.[12] He has since done multiple vlogs traveling across the USA usually going to sporting events and pro wrestling events. At the end of each of the vlogs he is known for chugging a bottle of water which then goes into a compilation of all the other times he has and it and ends with a clip of a hamster drinking water.[13]

In October of 2020 Troydan uploaded a video where he ate the entire McDonald’s menu he has since done this with 4 other fast food chain menus.[14]

Other games and live streams[]

Troydan is an avid streamer usually playing NBA 2k or MLB the show. But has also done streams where he plays GTA RP, Fortnite and Wii Sports. He also is known to do reaction videos on lives as well usually reacting to police chases.[15]

In his early years he played a wider variety of games such as Club penguin, Duke Nukem and Roblox. He also used to upload videos of ps4 voice chats where he would usually have 2 kids argue with each other.[16]

Music[]

In 2015 Troydan created the Jimmy Blackman song.[17] Since then he has released other two songs the first came out in August of 2017 titled Put ‘Em Out (Blaze Diss Track).[18] Later in 2018 he released Troy’s Plan a parody of Drakes Gods Plan.[19] He also made a 30 second joke song titled Troy and Lonzo.[20]

Second Channel[]

His second channel, Troydan Reacts 2, was created on November 18, 2018. As the name suggests, it is a reaction channel. It was created after a previous channel was terminated due to violation of YouTube's three strike policy. (his previous channel got deleted because of copyright claims) the channel had over a million subscribers at the time of its deletion.

Troy Getting Trolled[]

Troy has recently been getting trolled by his fans, they send in pictures of Troy to news channels telling them its Troys 40th-50th birthday.

His fans are also known to send him ridiculous superchats during his live streams.

Other characters[]

Troydan is known to have many of his friends appear in videos these include Eddie the Mexican, Zessty, Don J, Blaze, Fungus and Funguses mother.[21] He is also known to react to fellow YouTuber Garry Food reviews at the begging of his live streams.
