U2 is an Irish band from Clontarf, Dublin, Ireland. Formed in 1976 by Paul David "Bono" Hewson, Larry Joseph Mullens Jr., David Howell "The Edge" Evans, Ivan McCormick, Adam Charles Clayton and Richard G. Dik Evans, the band is best known for their hit singles, such as With or Without You and I Still Haven't Found I'm Looking For.

Originally known as Feedback, the band was formed in 1976 by Mount Temple Comprehensive School students MPaul David "Bono" Hewson, Larry Joseph Mullens Jr., David Howell "The Edge" Evans, Ivan McCormick, Adam Charles Clayton and Richard G. Dik Evans, after Mullens had posted a note on his school's notice board looking for fellow students interested in starting a band in Clontarf, Dublin, Ireland. As of February 2022, the band has released fourteen studio albums, one live album, three compilation albums, sixty-seven singles, and nine EPs. The band has won twenty-two Grammy Awards, making them the band with the most Grammy Awards currently, and are one of the world's best-selling musical acts.
