Hello, Wikitubians!

As 2021 is coming to an end, we wanted to look over all that has happened in Wikitubia this year and also announce a couple of things as well. I’ll start with the changes that Wikitubia has gone through this year.

At the beginning of the year, Wikitubia had only 8,000 pages. But over the span of just a year, Wikitubia has grown to over 14,000 pages! Wikitubia’s popularity has nearly doubled since last year and will continue to grow. We would like to thank all of the editors and community members who helped in the process of making Wikitubia a bigger and better place. And with that, this year we decided to do something special by choosing a member of our community who we think has contributed to Wikitubia the most in 2021.

The user we have chosen to be our User of the Year is JustLeafy! Leafy has been on Wikitubia since 2017, though didn’t become a staff member until this year. Since then, he has created over 1,000 pages in 2021 alone, which most of the pages are of high quality. On top of that, He is knowledgeable in code and is a great admin with experience. And if anyone should be considered the user of this year, it should be JustLeafy.

I would also like to list other notable users who have also contributed to Wikitubia a lot this year:

A special thanks to all of them as well, as they too have helped the wiki grow a lot.

I would also like to recognize some of our administrators who retired in 2021, as they have contributed to Wikitubia a lot over the years, and they will be missed:

Another thing, many of you are aware that we changed the subscriber requirement from 500 to 1,000 at the beginning of the year. Many of you also know that we have decided to remove all of the grandfathered pages with under 1,000 subscribers on January 1, 2022, and have them transferred to Minitubia. So after this blog post is announced, we will start to transfer those pages. The reason we are doing this is that we felt that a year would be enough time for channels with under 1,000 subscribers to reach the new subscriber requirement, and if they didn’t do so, they probably wouldn’t be considered popular enough for Wikitubia standards.

On a different note, we thought it would be a cool idea to bring back the YouTuber Awards, something that we did a few years ago, where you could vote for the best YouTuber in each category for this year. Here are the results for each category:

Best Gaming YouTuber - DanTDM

Best Tech YouTuber - Linus Tech Tips

Best Vlogging YouTuber - penguinz0

Best YouTube Animator - TheOdd1sOut

Best Shorts YouTuber - JackSucksAtLife

Best YouTube Musician - Wilbur Soot

Best Cooking YouTuber - You Suck at Cooking

Best Beauty YouTuber - James Charles

Best Educational YouTuber - Mark Rober

Best Comedy YouTuber - jacksfilms

And Finally, the Best YouTuber of 2021, according to our users, is MrBeast!

Thank you to everyone who voted in those polls. Hopefully, we can do this again next year.

An update with the Hall of Fame, the poll site is still not working, so we will mostlikely use another poll system for it and start the Hall of Fame back up in either Feburary or March. Thank you for your patience.

One last announcement, we are having a new featured channel! The new featured channel will be I am Vinner and will become our featured after this blog post.

That’s about everything, but thank you for choosing to spend your time on Wikitubia, and let’s hope 2022 is even better for us!
