VShojo is an American VTuber company founded by former Twitch employee Justin Ignacio and YouTuber Philip 'MowtenDoo' Fortunat, who were huge fans of the VTuber subculture. Its name being a pun on the Japanese word bishoujo, meaning "pretty girl", its goals were to help boost the careers of its members by providing support in terms of in-house tech, legal, PR, sponsors, upgrades, opportunities, social media expansion and a positive environment as well as allow them to have complete freedom. It was founded on November 24th, 2020.

About

Unlike most VTuber companies such as Hololive, Nijisanji and PRISM, VShojo usually hires VTubers that debuted independently. On the 24th of November 2020, five extremely popular Twitch VTubers, Nyanners, Silvervale, Ironmouse, Projekt Melody and Zentreya announced their partnerships with the company. Later on 2021, Hime Hajime, Froot and Veibae joined it.

Collaborations

VShojo is famous for hosting collaborations with the anime side of YouTube. Ironmouse is known to collaborate with CDawgVA in multiple videos and twitch streams - even though Connor has associated with other VTubers in the past, she is the one he has had the most collaborations with, often gaming and chatting with each other. At one point he even said he knew everything about her. She has also been interviewed by AnthonyPadilla in his video "I spent a day with VTUBERS". Hajime is actually Sydsnap, and as the girlfriend of Gigguk, she has cameoed in several of his videos. Hime Hajime and Froot also became famous for being part of Nux Taku's videos, and he has professed his love for Projekt Melody, who has reviewed hentai with penguinz0. Nux has also said that Ironmouse is a like a sibling to him. Ironmouse, Silvervale and Projekt Melody host Lewdcast, a "Weekly Variety VTuber Podcast" where they talk about various topics, mostly related to VTubing, and invite guests to talk with them - some so far include Kano Shibuya, Takahata 101 and Merryweather Comics.

The official YouTube channel of the company also hosted a game show between Ironmouse, Silvervale, Zentreya and Nyanners, pitting them against each other in a quiz about anime.

Controversy

In November of 2021, the talents of VShojo were targeted by a doxxer/swatter, which caused law enforcement to get involved.

Nux Taku found them, and made a video exposing them. This was despite the talents telling him not to, out of fear that it would harm their safety even more and revealing the methods they used to catch him will just make it easier for others to learn how to get away with it. Eventually, Nux privatized the video but by then he had already been condemned by creators both in and outside of the VTuber community.

However Nux claimed that he had discussed the issue with upper management and they greenlighted his decision, with the official VShojo Twitter account even making a tweet thanking him for the video. Nux also released a Twitlonger where he detailed his side of the story.
