Jason Gastrow (born: January 30, 1991), better known online as videogamedunkey (or just Dunkey), is an American YouTuber, video game commentator, reviewer, and comedian. He is known for his League of Legends videos, and has played with several famous League of Legends gamers. He is good friends with PBat (PaperBatVG), and has had the world record on the famous Super Mario Maker 2 level "Bowser's Big Bean Burrito", although he has gotten the record stolen multiple times by LilKirbs.
Jason has played both famous and unknown video games; many of his titles are misleading as to the game he's playing. Jason rarely keeps series prominence and prefers distributing his unique brand of comedy over a variety of games. Jason has also made one music video called "Donkey Kong December" being released on youtube on December 1, 2021. League of legends is the video game that Jason has played the most and made the most videos on.
Personal Life[]
Jason has been married[1] to Leahbee since September 21, 2019. She can be easily identified for her high-pitched voice.
Jason was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His parents are both Ukrainian.
Content[]
Jason used to primarily create content on the game League of Legends, however more recently Jason has become more of a variety channel, now featuring video game and movie reviews, both serious and comedic, on his channel. He has also shown a liking in journalism, making videos that point out flaws in different industries, while commenting on it and also reacts to different topics.
Jason put down his roots on YouTube primarily as a LoL (League of Legends) content creator, making over 180+ videos of the highly popular game. His last Lol video was made on September 12th 2015 and was titled "I'm Done With League of Legends" and was meant to signify his end with the game after Riot Games (the owners of Lol) banned his account whilst he was trying to make another video, because of 'Toxicity' (as ironic as the situation was).
He made the video to put down the reasons why he was stopping content on the game, as well as apologizing to the previous fans who only knew him for his LoL content, as he was moving on. This change arguably helped his channel in the long run, as he was able to bring new fans from the different areas that he was now able to cover, not being limited to LoL.
There are some who classify Jason as the ultimate shitposter, as every time he uploads gameplay of a game, he displays every level of "broken" that the game is capable of. He delivers his jokes in such a deadpan and sarcastic tone that anything he says can become a quote very easily. When it comes to reviews, he'll go full force on it, as he is able to be brutally honest or apathetic to the game, while still being in his signature voice tone. The signature tone of Jason's voice is a big reason as to how his reviews have gained a bit of notoriety, Another signature of his is the misspelling of his own name at the end of every video.
There have been several running jokes throughout his channel such as:
