Lucas[1] (born: April 23, 2005),[2] better known online as Weegeepie (parody of PewDiePie's username with Weegee), is a French[3] YouTuber, animator, 3D and 2D artist known for creating animated/machinima videos based around the Super Mario franchise, with a focus on Luigi. This stems from the fact that his channel is a parody, an unofficial continuation, and an alternate universe of SMG4.
History[]
Weegeepie originated from the SMG4 video MarioTube[4], where all of SMG4's characters got a fictional in-universe YouTube channel; Lucas took Luigi's channel in that video and made it a real thing.
Beginning[]
The initial thumbnails in question
Before creating Weegeepie, he had another channel named Lucλς. While Lucas was not the only one with this idea, he had the upper edge over other channels simply by trying to replicate SMG4's style in the thumbnails on the very first day (despite having zero experience doing so)
Initially, the channel was not meant to be anything serious, as he was only 12 years old & at school when starting, however, he continued to do original content for fun on the side
This led to 2021, where he unexpectedly blew up, going from 450K to 1 million subscribers in the span of only a few months; this defined where he would try his hardest to replicate Luke's SMG4 style of videos as closely as possible.
Background[]
Weegeepie started creating content on YouTube that revolved around Super Mario 64, directly from the satirical, chaotic style defined by SMG4 during his 2014–2018 era. While initially a niche creator, Weegeepie gained recognition for his humorous and creative twists to the SMG4 formula, instead applied to Gaming content, which can be compared to VTubers.
His videos primarily feature models and environments from Super Mario 64 and Garry's Mod. Much like SMG4's earlier works, Weegeepie’s content stands out for its fast-paced humor, fourth-wall breaks, and a playful reimagining of familiar gaming tropes. These traits have helped him carve out a devoted fan base that missed SMG4's older style of content that the public remembers fondly.
Relation to SMG4's channel[]
Weegeepie's channel started out as a tribute to SMG4, heavily inspired by the early style and humor of SMG4's content back in 2014-2018. Over time, while SMG4's channel began to change & adoption toward a more refined, narrative-centered & "Drama" style of content, Weegeepie persevered by continuing the chaotic, satire-rich origins of this character during its golden years. This dedication to replicating SMG4's classic style, combined with the integration of newer memes and fresh comedic elements, gives Weegeepie a unique identity compared to Modern-day SMG4, while maintaining a nostalgic connection to SMG4’s legacy
Weegeepie's channel started off as though it was canon to SMG4's series, but later forked into its own unique interpretation. Even though many of the same characters, such as Tari and SMG4, are used by Weegeepie, his content takes place within an alternate universe. Evidence includes scenes like the ending to his If Mario Was In. Splatoon 2, his choice to use older designs of Meggy, Saiko, SMG4, SMG3, Bob, and Boopkins. These ultimately speak of a commitment not to change in an attempt at maintaining charm from his old work and keeping fresh comedy.

Luigi
Mario's cowardly brother, and of course the main character in Weegeepie's videos, in Luigi Plays he can act similar to Mario.
Mario
Luigi's brother, he is a fat Italian with an attitude, he's very lazy, really likes spaghetti and acts really dumb on screen.
SMG4
Also known as SuperMarioGlitchy4, he's a YouTuber living in a secluded room of Peach's Castle, he likes memes and hanging out with his dumb friends, he's usually the voice of reason though he can still act dumb at times.
Tari
She is the most used character that can be considered "Modern" in the SMG4 space, to the point where it might be more used than Mario or SMG4, this makes some sense as Tari is the character most assimilated with gaming, which is ideal for the Luigi Plays format.
Meggy
A female Inkling from Splatoon who likes competition and challenge, this character was often the subject of most discourse with the original SMG4 videos, especially back in 2017 when she was introduced. Weegeepie viewers seem to like Meggy with both how she's portrayed, not overly used and the fact she uses her old design, similar comments have been made with Tari expressing "her personality is more enjoyable to watch"[5]
SLG4
A very old and obscure SMG4 character, brought back and heavily developed, noticeably being a Luigi recolor.
"Modern" characters
Only Tari, Meggy & Shroomy are what can be considered "Modern" SMG4 characters that appear in Weegeepie's videos, any character after this is either not used at all or only limited to background character appearances[6]
Additionally, the "Anime Arc" and any other events happening after, don't seem to have happened in the Weegeepie canon.
"Classic" characters
Almost all classic SMG4 characters are used on Weegeepie, though this is hard to see with the main content being Luigi Plays, which are focused entirely on Luigi.
Lucas
Lucas is the 2D representation of his IRL self, as he hasn't face revealed and doesn't do any on camera/IRL content.
He is represented by 2D artwork which easily stands out in the Mario world full of 3D models, the art style is reminiscent of old Flash cartoons on YouTube & Newgrounds.
Controversies[]
Stealing SMG4's videos[]
SMG4's Comment
SMG4, the channel that inspired Lucas' channel, left a comment on one of Weegeepie's videos saying that he was stealing his work, the video in question was an SMG4 clip compilation.[7][8]
Soon after, Weegeepie uploaded a video where he apologized and said he was going to become an independent creator.[9]
SMG4's Followup Comment
SMG4 left a comment on the apology video, acknowledging his apology and understanding that no harm was done.[10]
2024 Allegations[]
Transphobic/homophobic/racial slurs (First Document)[]
On January 24, 2024, Twitter user hushmush14, a former friend of Weegeepie, released a Google Document.[11] The document alleged that Weegeepie was using homophobic, transphobic, and racist slurs; engaging in erotic roleplay; and sending pornographic content to minors.
Upon the tweet's publication, Weegeepie allegedly responded flippantly to its contents on Discord,[12][13][14][15] but he would eventually respond publicly on January 26, 2024 with his own Google Document. The document was "not [going to be] the apology/debunk statement [people] expected to read, well at least not fully", and instead served to announce that Weegeepie would be leaving most social media platforms.[16][17]
Grooming/Pedophilia (Second Document)[]
On February 4, 2024, hushmush14 released another Google Document.[18] This document alleged that Weegeepie sent explicit images of himself to minors; received explicit images of minors; admitted to possessing child sexual exploitation material (CSEM); directed raiders to spam porn and slurs in a Discord server; groomed and stalked a minor, including on a Discord call; and blackmailed his alleged victims. This document supplanted and replaced the first document.[19] The document was accompanied by statements from at least two of Weegeepie's former friends, former writer Viclis[20] and fellow machinimist Bugtendo.[21]
Soon after the publication of these allegations, Weegeepie responded saying that he would debunk these claims "once I'm able to"[22], promising the debunk in "one to two weeks" on Twitter and Reddit.[23][24][25]
Explicit material (Third Document)[]
On February 25, 2024, hushmush14 released another Google Document.[26] This document alleged that Weegeepie groomed a 12 year old he met on ROBLOX; received nudes (CSEM) from them and sent nudes to them; planned to meet and have sex with the 12 year old ("statutory rape" in many jurisdictions); created CSEM; groomed another 12 year old when he was 16 in 2021; was in the process of grooming a 16 year old at the time of the doc's publication; manipulated a previous victim; harassed another previous victim out of spite; and avoided working on the response he had promised earlier, which had not come out in the time he had promised it would. The document also included at one point allegations made by Weegeepie's supposed real life ex-girlfriend, but those sections have since been blanked. That section contained allegations that Weegeepie threatened his ex-girlfriend with physical abuse to keep her quiet;[27] despite being removed from the third document, these allegations are still visible in the final document.
Weegeepie stated that due to the third document, his response would now take more time, as there were more things to respond to,[28] however, on March 25, another user disputed this, alleging that Weegeepie had revealed in conversation with a YouTuber and former friend, Resprune, that he had not started as he was waiting for them to do more stupid things he could include in his video.[29]
On February 26, 2024, Weegeepie tweeted a statement about his experiences working for GLITCH, intending to defend the company from allegations of employee mistreatment.[30] The statement included a reaffirmation that a response to previous allegations of grooming would be coming[31], though despite this, many commenters criticized him for supposedly not working on his response.
On March 14, 2024, a friend of Weegeepie released a response written by another friend, on the behalf of that friend.[32] The document was not intended to cover the drama, and was not written with the input of Weegeepie; the document intended to "double as something to easily send to my friends to explain myself as well as a way to explain my experiences with the drama," as well as to "talk about my side of the story".[33][34][35]
Fourth Document[]
On March 31, 2024, hushmush released another Google Document.[36] This document alleged that Weegeepie groomed a 14 year old; claimed to contain an analysis of Weegeepie's arguments as dictated to a friend of his; contained a video from a former friend, Resprune, who interviewed someone alleged to be one of Weegeepie's former close friends; and covered the previous March 14 response made by a friend of Weegeepie.
Weegeepie had no discernible immediate public response.
Initial Response Video[]
On April 19, 2024, Weegeepie released a video explaining his side of the story. The video received criticism on social media platforms, for reasons including Weegeepie not taking the allegations seriously[37], the video's alleged failure to cover all relevant topics[38], and the video's perceived lack of evidence[39]. Weegeepie has stated that part of this is the result of inaccessible information that he still needed to gather proof for.[40]
On April 23, 2024, SummyV1 and ShockHat734 released another video supposedly debunking the claims Weegeepie had made in his own video.[41][42] The video was taken down a day later,[43] along with a reupload of the video.[44] The response, supposedly uploaded for the 9th time, was supposedly taken down by Weegeepie multiple times before being successfully reuploaded on April 25.[45]
On August 29, 2024,[46] a YouTuber named "Thunder Eagle" uploaded a video titled "Every Youtube Predator Explained in 34 Minutes". The video, which included Weegeepie, was allegedly copyright claimed and taken down on September 3.[47] Thunder Eagle then alleged on September 6 that Weegeepie was the one who had taken the video down.[48] The video was reuploaded on October 31, 2024, with Weegeepie removed.[49] Weegeepie eventually responded to these claims in his response document, claiming that he did not take the video down.[50]
YouTubers Toastify[51] and Internet Anarchist[52] also released videos on him.
A final Google Document was released on June 30, 2024.[53] It was a chronological re-ordering of the previous 4 documents, and mostly serves as a summary. It also alleges that Weegeepie took down the response video multiple times; presents Resprune's attempt to report Weegeepie to French police; claims to debunk Weegeepie's December 7 response; and accuses Weegeepie of maintaining possession of censored CSEM, which he allegedly shared in his December 7 response.
Theft[]
On March 22, 2024, an anonymous account posted a Google Drive link, claiming it was filled with content leaked from a OneDrive that Weegeepie was selling for $120 on Patreon.[54]
On May 30, 2024, a Twitter user reposted the tweet, coupling it with an accusation that Weegeepie had stolen files from GLITCH while he worked for them and that he offered the files to Patreon subscribers who had paid $120.[55] The sudden attention prompted a new thread from the original leaker, who alleged that Weegeepie stole assets from SMG4.[56]
Weegeepie responded by asserting that everything in the leaked Drive was made by him,[57] but his response received criticism for allegedly being a lie.[58] He eventually responded to these claims in a response document on December 7, claiming that he never sold the assets, stored them in a OneDrive folder to assist aspiring machinimists who wished to edit like him or SMG4, and accidentally included a single official SMG4 savestate.[59]
On May 1, 2024, Resprune asked Weegeepie to remove a section of his video, Luigi Plays: FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKINNN (PART 2), that contained his character, Resprune.[60] The video was striked[61] until it could be reuploaded with the section removed as demanded. Days later, On May 11, 2024, Resprune alleged that Weegeepie was trying to claim the character as his own original creation, and that as a result of this he would be seeking legal action against Weegeepie.[62] He eventually responded to these claims in a response document on December 7, claiming the characters were different.[63]
Weegeepie's Document[]
On December 7, 2024, Weegeepie published a new section to his website, with an accompanying community post[64][65] and tweet.[66]
The response claims to debunk all the arguments and claims made in previous documents against Weegeepie. Its claims include; that the first document was created to get revenge on Weegeepie pranking the creator; that the docmakers are hypocrites and engaged in many of the same actions (specifically, slurs); that the second document misconstrued his relationship with "Victim 1" (claiming it was "a normal relationship") and that "Victim 1" was pressured into releasing her DMs + that "Victim 2" was trying to catfish him; that the second document lied about him stalking and harassing people; that his ex-girlfriend is abusive; that the "12 year old girl he met on ROBLOX" lied about their age and made him believe there was only a "1.5 year age gap"; that "Victim 6" supposedly admitted to lying and pressured Weegeepie into dating him; and that the fourth document nitpicks his relationship with "Victim 7" and that he doesnt remember much of it. The document also exists to; "address the hypocrisy of the people making those false documents about me, and how they are not to be trusted"; claims that "they are not a valid source of information" as "they believe anything presented to them & don’t bother checking it"; accuses Weegeepie's critics of "only trying to ruin my image & mental health"; and responds to Thunder Eagle's claims that Weegeepie took down his video, Resprune's claims that Weegeepie was trying to claim his character as his own, and claims that he sold stolen assets from GLITCH.[64]
The response's reception was mixed; on YouTube, many commenters felt that Weegeepie had been exonerated[67][68][69], but many on Twitter felt the response was poor and released Twitter threads claiming to debunk Weegeepie's arguments.[70][71][72]
The document has also received criticism for containing barely censored CSAM.[73]
Weegeepie claims that most people who have negatively reacted have only done so because they have not seen the document.[74] He also promises that an update to the document is planned.[75]
Alleged CSAM[]
On October 30, 2025, hushmush released another Twitter thread.[76] This thread alleged that Lucas dated a 15 year old girl while he was 20, made them claim they were 19 in a discord call, planned to meet up with them, and admitted to possessing CSAM.[76]

- His Luigi character has the headphones on his cap, rather than on his ears, this is obviously out of place for comedic effect
- It originates back to Luke (SMG4) on Gmod, trying to give Luigi headphones in a fast (and so funny) manner in Mariotube, putting it directly on top of his hat, instead of tediously trying to make them fit on his ears and welding it.
