This is the page for applying for Wikitubia staff. The button to apply to be a part of Wikitubia's staff team is below this text. Also below this text are the requirements for attaining each role and some of the responsibilities that you assume if promoted, as well as a table of open positions. Do note that these are not comprehensive lists; a comprehensive list of each role's responsibilities would be nearly impossible to type, so you should not assume that we've given you enough information to gain a full understanding of the role. Additionally, you gain additional responsibilities the higher your role becomes, and are still capable and expected to perform the responsibilities of lower ranks as necessary.
Also note that it should be possible to waive certain requirements for any role if the user is deemed suitable despite lacking these qualities, or in times of shortage. However, this should not become commonplace, and the existing criteria should be strongly considered when evaluating users. Essentially, users who don't meet the requirements may still be considered and promoted.
All staff members are capable of enforcing any rule, including rules for areas of the wiki that would not normally concern them. For example, rollbackers can administer warnings for discussions-based infractions.
The application form will be perpetually open and checked constantly. Everyone is welcome to apply, but there are a few conditions which will lead to an application being automatically rejected:
- Trolling; please treat the application seriously
- Applications from users who have spent less than 1 month on the wiki
- Users who are blocked or banned
- Users who have had more than 2 non-pardoned blocks
- Users with less than a year since their last non-pardoned block

Bureaucrat Roles
Requirements
- Must be an administrator
- Must win an election
Responsibilities
There are 3 bureaucrat roles: Head of Content, which only content administrators can run for; Head of Moderation, which can be attained by both content and discussions administrators; and Head of Discussions, which only discussions administrators can run for.
The Head of Content is responsible for ensuring that the content on Wikitubia's articles is in its best condition, and should be the individual that editors turn to when they have questions relating to the content of the wiki, as well as the individual who takes all responsibility for the content of the pages. This includes pages, files, templates, and categories.
The Head of Moderation is responsible for all management behind-the-scenes; they oversee the inner workings of Wikitubia, and are primarily in charge of the rules, user rights, and implementing new features on the wiki. If a new program is being tested on the wiki, it is likely the Head of Moderation is overseeing it, and they are the user to turn to with questions about staffing or the rules. The Head of Moderation assumes responsibility for the management of the wiki.
The Head of Discussions is responsible for managing the discussions. All posts, messages, and comments on the wiki fall under their purview. They ensure everything on the discussions side of the wiki runs smoothly. This is the user to ask discussions-related questions.
The bureaucrats do not manage their areas alone; there is some overlap between the domains, and all 3 of these areas are interdependent. For example, changes in content policy are likely to go through both the Head of Content and the Head of Moderation.
In general, bureaucrats have many of the same rights as admins, with only the right of user rights management being added. This is why bureaucrats are still considered admins. However, bureaucrats do still have various responsibilities on the wiki:
- As the "leaders" of the wiki, bureaucrats should be considered those ultimately responsible for their domain.
- As mentioned before, bureaucrats are responsible for the management of user rights.
- Bureaucrats are the primary managers of Wikitubia’s social media platforms.
- Bureaucrats represent the most skilled and insightful staff members of the wiki, and can't be demoted by anyone. The role should be treated with great respect, caution, and discipline
Admin Roles
Requirements
- Must win approval from a majority of existing admins in a 1-day vote
Content Administrator
- Must be a content moderator
- Preferably has lots of time and experience as a content moderator
Discussion Administrator
- Must be a discussion moderator
- Preferably has lots of time and experience as a discussion moderator
It is possible to have both roles, provided a majority of admins agree.
Responsibilities
There are two types of admins, content administrators and discussions administrators. Content administrators are content moderators who were promoted to administrator, while discussions administrators are discussions moderators who were promoted to administrator. Both have many shared responsibilities and unique ones of their own:
Dual
- Blocking and unblocking users.
- Administrators may be trusted to manage Wikitubia's social media platforms.
- While all staff roles are theoretically trusted, and therefore this is not an admin-specific responsibility, admins are likeliest to receive this responsibility and should be prepared in case. Additionally, only admins can be considered for owner or vice owner on Wikitubia's Discord server.
- Editing highly sensitive wiki code
- Verifying YouTubers
- Administrators can also promote users to discussion moderators and rollbackers, but should only be relied upon to do it when given permission to beforehand.
Content
- Aiding content moderators and rollbackers in managing the wiki's content
Discussions
- Aiding discussion moderators in managing the discussions

Rollbacker Roles
Requirements
- Must be accepted through application
- No more than 2 valid non-pardoned blocks, and no valid non-pardoned blocks within the past year
- No valid warning within the past 60 days
- Preferably over 500 edits
Responsibilities
- Use of the rollbacker tool, a tool which allows users to revert bad edits and vandalism in one click, even consecutive edits by one user. For contrast, undoing vandalism usually takes multiple clicks.
- Please use the rollbacker tool responsibly. Misuse or lack of use can lead to the removal of your rights.
- Issuing notices and warnings to users who violate any rules
Application Process
Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed by the Head of Moderation. The Head of Moderation may ask for feedback or other opinions, and it is recommended they should, but ultimately it is their judgment to make, and their word is final.
Users will only be contacted if they are accepted. If you are accepted, you'll be asked if you are still interested in becoming staff--applications may take time to consider and your interest may change--and if you are still interested, and you will be promoted and promptly accepted. No matter what the outcome, no applications should be deleted, as it is important to keep records. If the same user applies multiple times, their applications can be compared and the user can be tracked. It also creates a reliable backlog of users to choose from, as users who apply may be constantly re-reviewed, however, you should not count on this possibility.
If you feel you have been denied, you are always welcome to try again as many times as you'd like.
