The July 2023 bureaucrat vacancy vote was a site-wide election that took place from July 1, 2023 to July 8, 2022, between administrators 5090061uusd, a user who was once blocked in 2021 but drastically improved his behavior to the point of being promoted to an administrator in December of 2022, and BlindCartographer, a user who has been a staff member since 2020 and is the longest currently serving non-bureaucrat administrator at the time of the vote. The vacancy process began on June 12, 2023, when bureaucrat Purzyckij announced that he will be stepping down as bureaucrat on July 31, 2023.[1] With the creation of the bureaucrat apportionment rules, it was decided that Purzyckij's would become the position of the Head of Discussions, allowing only discussions administrators to become candidates. BlindCartographer overwehlmingly won with 69% of the vote. This was the 2nd bureaucrat selection vote that occurred on Wikitubia.

Final Round
The final round for the July 2023 bureaucrat vote was held from July 1, 2023 at 00:00 UTC to July 8, 2023 at 00:00 UTC, between administrators 5090061uusd and BlindCartographer. Before the vote, most would speculate that BlindCartographer would win. However, several hours into the vote, there appeared to be massive amounts of alternate accounts being created to vote for 5090061uusd, giving 500061uusd a large boost in support. In response to this, there would be stricter rules implemented for who can vote to try and avoid fraudulent votes, as well as additional procedures to verify the authenticity of votes. 5090061uusd condemned these alternate accounts for fraudulently voting for him.[10] After this, the vote resumed as normally and filtered without the invalidated votes, BlindCartographer had won in a landslide, and was declared the winner.[11]
