Description
Q: What will this wiki be about? What sort of articles will be included?
A: YouTubia will be a wiki about all things notable on the video sharing site 'YouTube'. This means, notable YouTubers, YouTube founders and employees, notable YouTube videos which have been veiwed more than 1 million times and articles on YouTube guidelines.
Every day YouTubers enter articles on themselves or their fav YouTuber but based on WP:N these YouTubers are most often deleted. In the future WP admins will be able to move it to our wiki and refer the user to us.
I would like the site to go further than YT and also cover YT's competitors such as LiveVideo. Tubes is a term that can cover all video sharing as in vlogging in a sense teleportation.
Furthermore there is a wiki called encyclopedia dramatica that gets allot of attention on YouTube and has a strong community, they are not for the good of YouTube and many people feel harassed by their lack of rules. I think Wikitubia will be welcomed as a great alternetive and even attract EncyDramatic editors for the better.
Community
We believe we will have thousands of articles within one month and will then be able to generate the entire YouTube community's interest in our content. In this way we will attract more members and be able to establish guidelines.
From the start we state that the portal will be user friendly and protect the privacy of all YouTubers.

- Sounds good. There are YT users who are notable enough in the YT community, but not notable enough for WP. (eg Sarah Joyce Parent/xsjpx is popular but not as popular as lonelygirl15 actors.) It could be a place where users can edit articles about their favorite videos, not so much as the creators promoting themselves. In this sense, it continues the idea of sharing videos further and beyond YT. ElleBee 11:59, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Articles about YouTube people can go on the Internet Wikia. See LisaNova for example. Do you think you could find enough people to make a separate site out of this even though so few people have wanted to edit these articles on the Internet Wikia? Angela talk 18:21, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- Your question is answered in ED (encyclopedia dramatica). Most of their content is YouTube related and they generate 1000s of edits a week, mostly for harassing YT vloggers. YouTube has a community, a fanatical one and are not happy with what is going on at ED. The FBI shut it down for nearly a week when this guy made a massive fuss about it on YT. I think we will only start generating enough interest once there are enough articles. Is there such a thing as a three month trail period? TownCrier 18:50, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- BTW, that LisaNova article was written by me and Lisa for WP. She was trying to get herself into WP and was AFD twice so I offered the YouTube academy (a group of top sub YouTubers) to enter articles on each one who stands up to WP:N. It didn't work out as WP refuses to acknowledge YT as an independent media body in itself. There many many other YTubers who haven't survived AFD and would be delighted to get involved in a wiki, especially as YT is looking for ways to read its community's whims.
