―xQc[1] |
Félix Lengyel ([feliks lɑ̃ʒɛl]; born: November 12, 1995 ), better known online as xQc (formerly xQcOW), is a Canadian Twitch streamer, YouTuber and former competitive Overwatch player.[2] Félix is known for playing as a tank for Team Canada in the Overwatch World Cup and has also played other games such as League of Legends and StarCraft.
Username[]
Félix's username stands for "Félix Quebec Overwatch".[3]
At one point when Félix first started out, he decided to change his username; he thought about 'xQc' as a possible name. Though, when he went to verify the name, he instead pressed validate, which then gave him the name without any confirmation if it was available or not. He accepted the name, partially due to him not wanting to pay another $15 for a second name change.[citation needed]
Content[]
xQc created his personal YouTube channel on March 8, 2015. Félix's videos consist of livestream highlights, compilations, livestreamed personal Q&A's, ban appeals, and let's plays that were all streamed on his Twitch channel.
His livestream highlights are edited and uploaded by Arthium, and the rest of his content is uploaded by Daily Dose of xQc. The videos are never uploaded by xQc himself, but instead by his editors.
He does livestreams every day for about 10 hours on average, with his longest one being 357 hours long.[citation needed]
History[]
Félix was born in Laval, Quebec on November 12, 1995 but has previously lived in Los Angeles, however he currently lives in Québec City.[4]
In 2016, Félix joined an Overwatch E-Sports team named Q? and played as a tank for the team. In 2017, Dallas Fuel of the Overwatch League announced that Félix would be joining their roster. Though when competing in the team, he has caused multiple controversies and was ultimately released from Dallas Fuel on March 11, 2018.[5][6]
Félix also plays other games other than Overwatch such as Fortnite. He currently is signed to Luminosity Gaming.[7] Félix streams on Twitch on a daily basis and is one of the site's most popular streamers.

Controversies[]
Stream-sniping DrLupo[]
On November 2020 during a Fall Guys Tournament, Lengyel was caught attempting to "stream-snipe" DrLupo during a Twitch Rivals tournament at GlitchCon. GlitchCon's Twitter account tweeted that they would be banning Lengyel for 6 months. This marked the fourth time he was banned from Twitch Rivals.[27]
Promotion of gambling[]
Lengyel has been a strong critic of gambling in the past, saying that gamblers are "scummy" and he wouldn't take advice from "someone who promotes gambling to children." However, he himself gambled on stream "for fun" in April 2021, and when he was criticized, he replied that it "wasn't serious."[28]
In May 2022, he started to incorporate gambling into almost all of his streams. He was sponsored by a website for his gambling as well.[29] Detractors pointed out that his fanbase, which consists of mostly young teenagers and adults, could imitate his controversial behavior. Felix stopped streaming gambling in October the same year, when Twitch banned the genre from the website.
GTA RP bans[]
Lengyel has been banned multiple times on the well known GTA role-play server NoPixel, for varying reasons. He has been mainly criticized for his short temper as well as out-of-character moments, which often ruin other player's experiences.
Lengyel has also faced criticism over his fanbase, who would brigade other roleplayers' streams and harass them if the latter had a bad encounter with Lengyel in-game. Lengyel was permanently banned from playing on NoPixel near the end of May 2021. He was eventually unbanned from the whitelist server after two months of playing on the public server.[30]
r/place raid[]
On April Fools' Day 2022, Lengyel decided to stream himself vandalizing other paintings on the experiment with the help with his fanbase.[31] He gained a lot of hate due to this.
Copyright infringements[]
Kick streams[]
In June 2023 during one of Félix's first streams on the site Kick, he was warned by a Kick staff member to stop streaming to avoid a DMCA takedown, after he streamed more than an hour of the film The Dark Knight on a "movie night". He promptly stopped the stream and deleted all VODs.[32]
Reaction content[]
On July 28, 2023, YouTuber Bub Games criticized Félix for "reacting" to the entirety of LEMMiNO's video "The Kennedy Assassination: Inside the Book Depository" on stream and uploading said stream to YouTube, all while adding almost no commentary or criticism from his side.[33] SomeOrdinaryGamers also joined in and engaged in a debate with xQc on Twitter over whether streams were legitimate fair use or stealing.[34] In a later stream, Lengyel commented, "I paused like crazy, I added a lot of commentary... the chat was getting mad at me."[35]
In August, neo tweeted a clip of xQc "reacting" to his video "The Densest City on Earth" where he left the stream 5 seconds into the video, only to return 10 minutes later.[36] He also revealed that xQc reacting to his video had little effect in the rate of viewership, as evident by the analytics graph.[37] xQc along with HasanAbi has faced a lot of backlash as a result of this.
Later on August 8, he attended a debate with Ethan Klien from h3h3Productions over his abuse of fair use and transformative content.[38] xQc try to get his point across by saying that anybody would watch him do the worm than Ethan Klien podcast but failing, later that infamous clip won h3h3 award for best moments. [39]

He calls his chat members "juicers".[40] His fans include Aiden Wallis, a software engineer for Twitch who also made Fossabot and Twitch Bot, and is one of his chat moderators.
