Content[]
The band was formed in 1968 by Peter Banks, Chris Squire, Jon Anderson and Tony Kaye. As of January 2022, the band has released twenty-two studio albums, eighteen live albums, thirty-seven compilation albums, and thirty-nine singles. Their first two albums are considered as psychedelic rock and proto-progressive rock. Peter Banks was removed from the band and replaced by Steve Howe before they started making their third album, The Yes Album which is one of the first progressive rock albums and considered as one of the best. The band continued to make progressive rock albums in the 1970s. During this time period, some of their popular songs are Roundabout, I've Seen All Good People, Close to the Edge. In the year 1980, the two members of the Buggles took the spots of singer Jon Anderson and keyboardist Rick Wakeman who had left the band years before. This 1980 lineup created one album. A few years later, singer Jon Anderson came back and so did Tony Kaye keyboardist of their first three albums, to create two pop albums with Trevor Rabin on guitars replacing Steve Howe. The song Owner of a Lonely Heart was a big hit. After that, they continued to make progressive rock albums in various lineups.
To be Continued[]
Their single, Roundabout, from the 1971 album Fragile was used as the ending theme for the anime JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The song was then used in an extremely popular internet meme, where it was played over a video that was paused right as something (usually injury) is about to occur, with an arrow at the bottom-left corner with the To Be Continued... written on it.

- "Dawn of light lying between a silence and sold sources, chased amid fusions of wonder in moments hardly seen forgotten, colored in pastures of chance, dancing leaves cast spells of challenge, amused but real in thought, we fled from the sea whole, dawn of thought transferred through moments of days under searching earth, revealing corridors of time provoking memories, disjointed but with purpose craving penetrations offer links with the self instructors sharp and tender love as we took to the air. A picture of distance. Dawn of our power we amuse. Re descending as fast as misused expression, as only to teach love as to reveal passion chasing late into corners, and we danced from the ocean. Dawn of love sent within us colors of awakening among the many, won't to follow, only tunes of a different age as the links span our endless caresses for the freedom of life everlasting."

- "Do the leaves of green stay greener through the autumn? Does the colour of the sun turn crimson white? Does a shadow come between us in the winter? Is the movement really light? And I heard a million voices singing acting to the story that they had heard about. Does one child know the secret and can say it? Or does it all come out along without you, along without you, along without you. Where does reason stop and killing just take over? Does a lamb cry out before we shoot it dead? Are there many more in comfort understanding? Is the movement in the head? And I heard a million voices singing acting to the story that they had heard about. Does one child know the secret and can say it? Or does it all come out along without you, along without you, along without you."
