Zyphon, formerly known as Cardude2001 and CartoonAddict, is an American YouTuber who is known for her Minecraft videos.
Personal life[]
Zyphon is from the United States. When she was a kid, she had a dream to be a content creator as well like her dad. So, her and her dad both setup a YouTube channel under the name Cardude2001.
She has bachelor's degrees in Economics, History & Political Science, and International Affairs from Florida State University. Currently, she is pursuing an additional bachelor's in Health Sciences from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee as a part of a Minecraft challenge.[1] Additionally, Zyphon is headed to law school in the fall.[2]
In 2021, she came out as transgender.[3] She is also asexual.[4]
Some of Zyphon's hobbies include reading books, listening to global news, and introspecting.

History[]
Beginnings[]
Her earliest videos date back to 2008, starting with the video "Webkinz vs Shining Stars".
She also posted videos about online games such as Club Penguin and Roblox. When the Roblox screen recorder came out, Zyphon uploaded tens of videos per day of short 2-10 second clips of the game. This abundance of videos caused the channel to reach 1000 videos on July 4th, 2011.
As she continued to post Club Penguin videos, Zyphon began taking inspiration from Vailskibum (on his older channel, Eaglefan246). Zyphon would begin new series such as Woow Adventures (named after her Club Penguin avatar) and Club Penguin Randomness.
Minecraft[]
In the second half of 2013, she transitioned into a full-fledged Minecraft channel. She eventually changed the channel's name to CartoonAddict.
Under the CartoonAddict rebrand, Zyphon posted theory videos about the television show Steven Universe.
In April 2018, CartoonAddict switched the channel's name to Zyphon. Zyphon also posted several original music videos around this time. She would post videos until January of 2019. At this point, the channel entered a hiatus.
Growth[]
After almost half a year of haitus, She returned to posting videos again beginning with ""School WiFi Rant". The next video onward, the channel once again focused on Minecraft videos. Her videos related to Minecraft Monday receive thousands of views, with the channel's titles and thumbnails focusing on Technoblade.
On June 29, 2019, She began the series YouTuber Biographies which discussed the full history of certain YouTube channels up to that point. The series started off with episodes about xTurtle, Skeppy, Dream, Technoblade, and ZexyZek.
Eventually, Minecraft Monday came to an end. Once this happened, She posted the video "Rise, Fall, and End of Minecraft Monday". This documentary videos was also made as a part of a school project. This video has gone on to reach 2 million views. It also pushed to channel from over 8k subscribers to over 15k in the span of a month.
She channel growth slowed and transitioned the channel into Minecraft event news. Zyphon reached about 18k in this stage initially.
In late March 2020, Keemstar got into an argument with a6d on Twitter. Her channel suddenly began to gain subscribers at a greater pace as uploads became more frequent. A few videos posted during this time eventually reached 1 million views, including "How Dream is a YouTube MASTERMIND" and "Rise and Fall of SMPEarth".
She began to transition the channel from Minecraft news to Minecraft documentaries over time. One big step in this process was condensing the news coverage on multiple events into a single series called the Minezone.
In July 2020, she posted "This Minecraft Speedrunner Cheated and Got EXPOSED", which would get over 10 million views in its lifetime. This single video also pushed the YouTube channel over the 100k subscriber mark. She eventually made a sequel video 3 months later, which received over 1 million views.
Zyphon has collaborated with numerous content creators in the later half of 2020. In her documentary about Mineplex, she included script-readings from Sipover and JavaMC. Her video about watching 100 Minecraft speedruns was part of a collaborative effort with Sipover and Willz. Not only that, but her documentary about the history of Skeppy events featured Wifies. Eventually, she made a huge collaboration video series in the form of her MC Wipeout event.
On December 10th, 2021, Zyphon posted a face reveal video that also doubled as a video where she came out as trans--albeit implicitly.
The Return[]
On October 11th, 2023, Zyphon returned to YouTube with a video supporting the penguin in that year's Minecraft Mob Vote. She continued posting more videos, such as one showcasing a recreation of Minecraft in PowerPoint using 3-dimensional models.

Zyphoon is her 2nd channel where she makes variety of content and behind the scenes content. She'll often post supplemental content to videos posted on her main channel. During the MC Wipeout video series, she posted a video with the full contestant interviews.

Zyphonium is her 4th channel where she posts storytime videos.
Zyphonite[]
Zyphonite is her 5th and 2nd extra channel where she posts random content like Friday Night Funkin', and other more variety.
ZyphonTWT[]
ZyphonTWT is her 6th channel where she mostly posts content about her Twitter. These videos are just Twitter screenshots with music playing in the background.
Events Hosted[]
MC Wipeout[]
The first event Zyphon hosted was MC Wipeout, based on the popular gameshow Wipeout. It was originally supposed to be a gameshow, but slowly morphed into a live Minecraft event for content creators.
The competitors in Season 1 were Dream, Sapnap, Skeppy, TommyInnit, Eret, Geosquare, Sipover, Purpled, TimeDeo, FireBreathMan, Fundy, BadBoyHalo, TapL, and im_a_squid_kid. The winner was Dream.
Following Season 1, there was a speedrun competition open to the public. Players from anywhere were able to compete in speedrunning the MC Wipeout Season 1 map. Players could also speedrun the individual levels on the map (though not for a prize).
The winner for Season 2 was FireBreathMan, followed by Fruitberries and P0LAND coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively.[5]
Retro Rivals[]
Retro Rivals is her second event, co-hosted with Gav1n and Logicologist. This event is themed around retro video games (with some exceptions). Retro Rivals has minigames including Frogger, Punch Out, Pong, Snake, Paperboy, Flappy Bird, and WarioWare, Street Fighter, Duck Hunt, and Pac-Man.
The winning team of level 1, Going Retro, was the Wonderous Warios: Punz, vGumiho, RedVelvetCake, and Antfrost.[6] The official livestream was hosted by Mantif and Capelle.[7]
The winners of level 2, Level Up, were FireBreathMan, TapL, JustVurb, and OfficialDeltaLive from the Pixel Pugs.[8]
Retro Rivals was nominated for a Crafty Award for "Most Creative Event".[9] The winner ended up being Minecraft Ultimate. Retro Rivals received second place by a small margin.
Events Competed In[]
MNP Games[]
Zyphon's first event was the MNP Games on February 15th, 2020. In her first time competing, she teamed up with FireBreathMan. Closer to the end of the tournament, Sky Does Everything dropped into her livestream chat. Zyphon would go on to compete again in a later season the same month on February 29th.
Minecraft Ultimate[]
Throughout 2020 and 2021, Zyphon competed in Minecraft Ultimate: a 250-player Minecraft Hunger Games event. She has played in every MCU event since Season 2. Through her involvement in the event, she's raised money for the Trevor Project.
Though Zyphon didn't compete in season 1, she did upload news videos surrounding it.
During her debut season, Zyphon teamed up with OmicronGaming, YaBoiAction, and BrandonCrafter. In MCU season 3, she teamed with Ranboo, MenacingBanana, and TheBestGinger13.[10] For the fourth season, her teammates were OmicronGaming, Misha, and Egg Socks.[11] In the event's 5th season, she teamed with CavemanFilms, Egg Socks, and ItsNoah.
Zyphon also competed in the Unofficial Minecraft Ultimate, teaming with ItsNoah, KiwiCabbit, and Zaduhhh.
MC Showdown[]
Zyphon teamed up with Dasnerth for MC Showndown's first season. Together, they ended up winning.[12] In season 2, she was supposed to team up with Dasnerth, Gavster, ProfessorBiggy, and McBirken.[13] However, this season didn't end up happening.
Galaxy Games[]
The Galaxy Games was a one-time Star Wars-themed YouTuber Minecraft tournament. Zyphon competed on Team Vespins. Her assigned teammates were Prelor, Roseriie, and Angelicat (the latter of which didn't show up, having forgotten about the event entirely).
Tournaments4Top[]
On the 7th of August, 2021, Zyphon competed in the T4Top charity event. The event's main purpose to raise money to help trans causes. Her team was the Mint Frogs, which also consisted of Noonish, OhAugust, and Zyphieee.[14]
MCC Applications[]
MC Championship is an extremely popular live Minecraft tournament run by Noxcrew.
For the 10th MCC competition, Noxcrew allowed viewers to apply to be in the event. Two of the event's teams would be filled with the successful applicants. Zyphon applied alongside JustDash, oCloudys, and Smugie.
In September 2021, Noxcrew made an announcement that content creators could apply for a spot in their special MCC Rising event. On the same day applications went live, Zyphon applied for the event alongside AvaJC, Mysticat, and FireBreathMan. While this team ultimately did not make it into the event, Mysty and FireBreathMan would find their way into MCC later on.
SMPs[]
Zyphon has quite-literally joined over 100 Minecraft SMPs.
Cosmic SMP[]
Zyphon's first SMP was the Cosmic SMP. This SMP was hosted by JustDash. Here, she built a house for herself near an ice biome. Over the course of her involvement, she played harmless pranks on the other members.
Future SMP[]
Her next major SMP was Future SMP.[15] Zyphon became the Secretary of Defense under President thebigman22. She built her base in an ice biome once again. She also built a pathway that helped connect the entire server together. Zyphon and thebigman22 went on some crazy antics by placing signs around the entire server, labeling everything.

100 SMPs[]
For a video, Zyphon joined more private SMPs until her total SMP-count became 100 (including previous ones). For this video, she joined many including SMPOnAir, Superior SMP, ScuffedSMP, Cubfan135's private subscriber server, Mythos SMP, and more.
During this journey, Zy bumped into a ton of other Minecraft content creators. In SMPOnAir, Cuptoast buried her into the ground. Not only that, but she followed around McYum with thebigman22. Some of the SMPs themselves were hosted by YouTubers, including AwesomeMarioBros SMP and Misha SMP.
SMPXD[]
SMPXD was a tight-knit Minecraft SMP hosted by Mysticat. The server's main goal was to be a cool server to settle-down and have fun in. Some of its other members included AreuMadLoL, Squilly, Wolfeei, Animagician, Tedsattic, etc.
SMPHaven[]
As her so-called "101st SMP", Zyphon joined SMPHaven. Here, she began a little town called Lakeland with MysticByte. Together, they pranked AvaJC by covering her base with trees. As they were in the process of doing this, AnniePants02 tried to intervene. This began the server's first war. After a bit of fighting, the war ended with the signing of the Treaty of Pants. Not too long later, AvaJC returned the favor by turning Zyphon's house into a fish bowl.
