Jamie Hensley-Davies (born: December 20, 1992), better known online as JAMIEvstheVOID (also known as ~JAMIE~, formerly JAMIErightmeow, WowRightMeow and AmyRightMeow), is a Welsh YouTuber and animator who used to upload storytime videos and made some short sketch videos. In 2022 he switched to vlogging, citing a growing disinterest in storytime animation as the reason.[1]
History[]
Before starting this channel, Jamie ran a channel called Cinnamon Studios[2] (formerly Cinnamon Mew Mew) from 2008-2016 where he produced a series called Conquering Tide featuring horse characters played by model horses, among other content.
Jamie started his current YouTube Channel on August 13, 2016, and he uploaded his first video on December 31, 2016 which was titled "Why I was a Weird Kid"[3] and uploaded many more storytime videos. He made a video Q&A with a face reveal,[4] and surpassed 100,000 subscribers.
Trivia[]
- Initially coming out as non-binary[5], he later uploaded a video stating that he now identifies as a trans man and uses he/they pronouns in July 2022[6], and a video explaining his progress of transitioning in more detail in February 2024[7].
- He came out as aromantic and on the asexual spectrum in 2024[8], having previously identified as pansexual[9].
- He attended VidCon London in 2019[10].
- He suffers from aphantasia[11].
- He owns a pomsky named Kepler[12], the name being inspired by his favourite video game series, Mass Effect.
- He has done various professional animation and illustration gigs for companies such as Ford[13], Heineken[14], CBBC[15] and Burberry[16].
- In 2012, following the success of Conquering Tide, Jamie was contacted by US toy company Stone Horses[17] to design model horses for them.
